Our review of the Glam Goo
My daughter loves slime. She also loves fashion, design and being creative, which means this slime kit ticks a lot of boxes for her!
The slime comes in a large container and is transparent and scentless in its natural state.
The container holds a good amount – plenty to experiment with. Emma really enjoyed creating her own slime designs.
My daughter was really excited by how pretty the glitters and pigments were. There are lots of possible combinations for creating slime designs, and she spent ages creating just a few.
At first, Emma wanted to keep the slime its natural colour so she just added sparkles. She kept it simple with the white/silvery large glitter chunks and created this opalescent look for her first attempt.
When she wanted to move on a create more slime designs, the storage case came in very handle. The slime settles when it’s put in the compartments, which leaves it with a really satisfying finish.
Emma spent a couple of hours quietly occupied with her slime, which I consider to be a real win. Tweens can get itchy feet and generally want suggestions for being entertained, so it was nice to see an activity to last for longer than ten minutes.
The slime is quite runny on first touch but with a little bit of squashing and squeezing, it soon became more rubbery in texture.
The ring that’s included is an empty plastic segment that opens up, which means you can swap the slime colours in and out to create different look.
Our final thoughts
We really loved the Glam Goo Deluxe Slime Pack. It managed to keep my ten-year-old daughter entertained for much longer than I expected. The perfume bottle handbag shaped carry case is a stroke of genius. The case is really pretty to look at and has the advantage of being transportable, meaning she can take it with her to her Grandma’s house.
Glam Goo is available from Smyths and all other good toy stockists for around £18.49. I think the price is fair for what you get and makes for an impressive looking gift for any girl in the tween 8-13 age bracket (and perhaps older).
Definitely would recommend.
