Tween girls can be a mystery at the best of times, so it’s understandable that you’re left in the dark about what to buy one for Christmas. Luckily for you, I once was a tween girl, and I have one (in the shape of Emma, my eldest) so I’ve been able to compile this tween girls’ gift guide with relative ease.
I’ve tried to include things beyond directly what’s on her Christmas list, and I’ve roped in a couple of friendly PR people to tell me what their best sellers are (and send over some samples for me check out/include at my discretion). This fairly extensive list should at the very least give you a few ideas and help you complete your Christmas shopping!

Tween Girls’ Gift Guide – Gift Ideas for Girls Aged 8-12
This article contains some PR samples and some affiliate links. All recommendations are genuine.
Magical Unicorn Mug & Spoon RRP £14.99 (but might be on sale right now!)
This gorgeous unicorn mug and spoon from Find Me a Gift is the perfect present for the tween girl in your life. Now they’re old enough to have fancy stuff without you worrying they’ll break it within seconds, gifts like this one are a lovely touch. It’ll make her feel very grown up and trustworthy to have such a fancy pants ceramic unicorn to drink their hot chocolate out of!
Flamingo Bay Weekend Bag RRP £29.95
Everyone knows any self-respecting tween girl needs a glamorous weekend bag for girly sleepovers and residential trips with school. This flamingo-tastic oilcloth travel bag from Rex London provides a stylish way for your tween girl to bring everything she needs for an overnight stay.
The contrasting lining adds a super-cool edge and there’s even a makeup bag available if you’re getting this for a slightly older girl.
I can’t get enough of this funk flamingo print!
Blush Pink Monogolian Throw RRP £24.99
If you know a tween girl who is a budding interior designer, she’ll absolutely adore this soft and fluffy pink ombre throw from Beautify. Pre-teen seems to be the age children are a bit better at keeping their room tidy. My daughter (who is nearly 10) has taken a sudden interest in interiors and the throw would look perfect draped on the end of her bed. As an added bonus, it’s super cosy, too!
Popsockets Grip in Llarmacorn Design RRP £9.99
This pop grip from Popsockets is a clever little gadget that helps you hold your phone one-handed. It’s perfect for tweens, especially since they have smaller hands and phones have such big screens these days. It functions as both a stand and a grip and can be attached to any phone case, making it the perfect gift for any phone-owner. There are loads of different designs, so you could probably buy one for each member of the family!
Harry Potter Itty Bittys RRP £6.00 Each
It warms my heart that things I loved as a child are still popular today. I realise Harry Potter isn’t quite old enough to be one of the classics (just yet) but I loved the story as a child and think it’s fab that the Franchise is still going strong. These Harry Potter Itty Bittys from the Hallmark Shop on Amazon make cute little stocking fillers (you can also get them in other designs to suit most interests).
Smencils Scented Stationery RRP from £6.50
Scented stationery is the stuff tween girls’ dreams are made of. I can remember smelly rubbers and glittery gel pens that smelled of strawberries being the height of sophistication when I was at school. Smencils have the scented staionery market covered and a big bundle of colourful, scented pens and pencils are exactly what your tween will want to open on Christmas morning. This set of Scent Co bundle is from DKL Toys.
Impulse Body Mist RRP £6.00
Even though tween girls smell sweet enough, they tend to go for even more sweet-smelling delights. These sweet-smelling delights by Impulse are a gorgeous stocking filler for any tween girl you have to buy for. The scents are light and trendy, without being overpowering.
Sophie Hannah’s body mist mixes the fresh scent of the ocean with sweet peach blossom for this fancy fragrance. The Go Get Glitter Coconut + Glitterbomb body mist smells like summer holiday and makes a lovely Christmas present that serves as a fab reminder summer is never far away.
Buy these Impulse Body Mists from Superdrug.
Kurio Kids’ Smartwatch RRP from £49.99
I think kids aged 8-12 aren’t really ready for an adult’s smart watch, but they’re too old for the regular kids smartwatches you see advertised for 5-year-olds. I’ve done my research and the Kurio smart watch gets suggested a lot for this specific age range.
It’s got a hi-res touch screen, an SD card slot, 20 apps and games, an activity tracker and much more! Get yours from Amazon.
Bath Fizzers RRP from £1.99
My daughter is well into her pampering (much like me, really), so fancy bath products are always on the Christmas list. These cute little stars smell lovely and aren’t too hard on the wallet either, starting at just £1.99, available from Fragrance Direct.
Who’s That Girl Glitter Roots RRP £9.99
The brand new Who’s That Girl beauty-focussed toy range is absolutely gorgeous. I always loved makeup as a young girl (and now, in case you hadn’t guessed) and would have loved something like this. The products are aimed at tweens but have a grown up feel. It’s about time beauty products for young girls came in colours and designs that they’ll actually want to use. Products like this Glitter Roots kit are the perfect way to help they tween girls in your life express themselves, and it even has a little portable keychain full of product, so they can reapply glitter on the go!
