The Stay Active Jump-It Wipeout game is heaps of fun. We were sent one to try for the purpose of this review and I can confirm straight off the bat that it’s a real laugh!
If you’re like me, then you’re probably always looking for ways to get your kids away from their screens and moving about more. As the winter months approach this can be a little harder.
I’m lucky my son is football obsessed, because that does get him active in a way that he enjoys. But there are some temperatures and weather conditions even a super fan like him can’t deal with, which means I have to be creative for indoor fun.
The Stay Active Jump-It Wipeout game is ideal for entertaining kids in all weather conditions and luring them away from those pesky screens they seem to be drawn to.
Stay Active Jump-It Wipeout Review

So what is the Stay Active Jump-It Wipeout? I hear you ask!
It’s a really simple concept of a rotating foam covered bar attached to a base that has lot of different settings on it. The challenge is that you’ve got to jump when the bar comes towards you without the bar touching you. If you’re too slow, it’ll bash your ankles and should “WIPEOUT” (which means you’ve lost).
The jump-it challenge is great because you can play alone or with a friend. This means you can play it any time, because you don’t have to wait for a companion to play with – just take the challenge against the machine to see if you can win.
Can you use the Jump-It Wipeout outdoors?

Stay Active love to create toys that can be used all year round, so it makes sense that most of their range can be used wherever you’d prefer. We’ve used the Jump-It Wipeout in the garden, but now the weather is beginning to turn (and the grass is permanently soggy) you might want to rethink.
Can you use the Jump-It Wipeout indoors?

In case you hadn’t guessed from what I said above, the Jump-It Wipeout is fine to be used both indoors and outdoors. Be aware, if you have a skinny lounge you might have to play it somewhere with a bit more space, as the rotating arm covers wide diameter. That said, we let Greg play it in his average-sized bedroom (pictured above) and it fits absolutely fine (although it does sound like a herd of elephants are up there if you site in the room below!)
What are the Jump-It Wipeout settings?
The Jump-It Wipeout has several different settings, including five music tracks, three speeds and three modes of play.

The Jump-It Wipeout modes of play are:
- Normal Mode – you’re tasked with jumping against the clock for a set time at a set speed of LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH speed. If the sweep bar doesn’t touch you, then you’re the winner!
- Challenge Mode – you’re lulled into a false sense of security as this challenge starts off at a stead pace, but as things begin to heat up, the sweep jump bar speed increases faster, faster and FASTER!
- Reverse Mode – The sweep jump bar will change direction when you least expect it! Stay vigilant – it really keeps you on your toes to test your timing, reactions, and agility.
What batteries does it take?
It takes quite a lot to power the Jump-It Wipeout – 6 x D batteries. No test batteries are included, so if you’re considering this as a Christmas present, it’s best to buy some batteries at the same time. I’ve found that convenience store prices for these batteries is extortionate, but this 6 packs of Duracell is available on Prime so you’ll not have to wait long if you’ve forgotten to buy them! You also need a skinnyish screwdriver because the screws are a little deep-set. We have one of those squat ones with changeable heads and it was only just the right size.
How do you store the Jump-It Wipeout?

While you need a bit of space to play the Jump-It Wipeout, storage is much easier. The sweep bar is detachable, meaning it’ll fit in a toy cupboard without taking up loads of room. I know I’m always worried about space when I buy slightly bigger toys, but this one is super easy to store.
A little bit about the Stay Active Range
The Stay Active range is an awesome idea from Character Toys. They’ve created a family-inclusive range of toys to keep kids active. Their range is full of enticing active challenges your kids can’t help but want to try. They have a vision that includes improving the mental wellbeing of kids, assisting in reducing childhood obesity, and helping with things like movement, balance, coordination, and reaction time.
They understand that as parents, we’re keen to get kids off their screens and vary the way we entertain them.
