For millions of years, GIGABOTS energy cores have lay dormant, trapped on Earth. One fateful day, they were activated by a huge lightening strike, allowing them to leave their Energy Core state and transform into GIGABOT robots.
The Energy Core undergoes an amazing transformation and every part is used to become the 13 inch GIGABOT figure. There are six different characters to collect, and we were lucky enough to receive FRAGBOT for the purpose of this review.
GIGABOTS Energy Core FRAGBOT Transforming Action Figure Review
As you may have guessed, GIGABOTS are transforming robots that arrive in their Energy Core state (which is a sphere that contains all the parts to build the figure).
It’s a toy that can be assembled and dismantled over and over again, giving hours of play opportunities. I like toys like this, as I often think it’s a shame when other toys have a function (like changing state) that only happens once and never again.
Are GIGABOTS easy to assemble?
Inside the Energy Core are all the pieces you need to build your GIGABOT 13 inch figure. Luckily they come with instructions, as I was briefly baffled when faced with all the loose pieces.
Greg and his dad enjoyed assembling the robot figure and it took about 10 minutes. These toys are suitable from 6+, but I would suggest adult supervision is necessary for the 6 and 7 year olds.
I particularly love how space-age everything looks. The Energy Core and the FRAGBOT form both look very sci-fi, which I think adds to the play value of these toys.
One of the cool things about assembling these is that you can mix and match, between characters to create an interesting hybrid bot. A great feature inventive and inquisitive kids.
GIGABOTS review – what we thought
We genuinely love this GIGABOTS toy and more GIGABOTS have been added to the Christmas list – which is how you can tell it’s a hit! Greg is a fan of all things robot, especially those that transform, so he’s particularly taken with assembling and disassembling his FRAGBOT GIGABOT.
Greg particularly like moving and posing the figure. I was quite surprised at how big the GIGABOT was when assembled. When all the parts are in the sphere shape, it doesn’t look like the robot will be that big, so that was a bonus!
About FRAGBOT
Each character has its own traits, and every box has a QR code you can scan to find out about them. FRAGBOT is reported as young, energetic, and always ready for a fight. There are also stats to accompany him like weight, power and special weapon range. The QR code also take you to a step-by-step assembly video, which is great if you prefer video to paper instructions.
Other GIGABOTS characters
There are six 13 inch GIGABOTS figure characters to collect, as well as two GIGABOTS beasts. The range includes: GRIPBOT, SCRAPBOT, BLAZE, HAZBOT, HYDROBOT and FRAGBOT (featured in this review. The GIGABOTS beasts are ARAKNIX and TORBOT.
