Giving children chance to draw and create allows them to explore their imaginations. It helps with their fine motor skills, and might even foster and interest in a life-long hobby. It can even help them talk about important things like their emotions or events that have upset them. That’s why it’s essential to give them drawing time.
What I love about the paint sticks is that they’re not messy. The creation station acts as both an easel and a storage box, and it allows us some totally fuss-free afternoons of creativity.
What’s inside the Paint Pop Paint Sticks Creation Station?
The creation station provides everything you might need for creating some awesome masterpieces. This includes the creation station itself – which double as both an easel and a storage box, 10 sheets of A4 paper, 6 paint sticks and a duster for the reusable wipe clean surface.
You can add more to your collection of paint sticks, as there are tonnes of different colours available (including a metallics range) but 6 is a fab starting point.
Where can you but the Paint Pop Creation Station?
The Paint Pop Creation Station is available from Smyth’s Toys Superstores and costs around £24.99. You can also pick up the rest of the range in-store. They came into stock mid-September in our local Smyths Toys Superstores, but if I were you, I’d check the stock levels before heading out, just to avoid disappointment.
Are they really mess-free?
The paint sticks claim to be a mess-free way of creating pictures, and I can confirm that to be true! I let Greg sit on his bed with his easel and draw his funk designs. There’s no risk or spilling or leaking, and unlike regular paint, you don’t have to wait ages for it to dry or wash up your brushes afterwards.
I’m going to recommending this as a great choice to anyone else who has artistic kids but doesn’t like the clean up certain crafts can bring. Greg is old enough to get this out, use it, and pack it away again without a trace, which is another win from my point of view.
Is the wipe clean side easy to use?
I’ve witnessed broken promises of wipe-clean surfaces in the past, but I can assure you this is the real deal. The fluffy-looking duster does its job perfectly. So if your kids are up for a doodle but don’t necessarily want to keep their creations. Or if you’re trying to spice up their weekly spelling practice by doing a word at a time and wiping it off, then you’re in luck. It comes off super easily and no other cleaning products are necessary.
Overall opinion
Just in case Greg’s beaming face didn’t give it away, we absolutely love this! I’m pleased that it delivers on the mess-free promise and I think I’ll let Orlaith use when she hits 3 years old (this is listed as 3+). It’s a thumbs up from us!
