Compact strollers are a hot topic this year. Most people have started the hunt for a compact fold stroller to take on their UK getaways. Even those who have planned lots of days out have found their regular buggy isn’t ideal for getting about.
The difference between compact strollers and regular buggies is that they’re designed to be lightweight, fold down small, and easy to transport. Whether you’re loading a boot or using public transport, it should be simple to take your tot on the outing they deserve without causing yourself a load of stress in the meantime.
As a mother-of-three, I’ve spent a lot of time testing, borrowing and buying compact strollers, so I feel like a bit of a seasoned pro.

Why choose a compact fold stroller?
With so many people going on UK breaks and staycations, they need something light and convenient to take their tots out in. Nobody wants to waste precious boot space one a bulky buggy. Likewise, big prams and public transport don’t mix either.
The key to choosing the right compact stroller for your needs is to find something that’s lightweight, folds easily and is comfortable for baby. There’s no point in getting your hands on the smallest, lightest stroller in the world if it’s not a nice place for your tot to sit.
Another requirement for me is that the stroller can handle the surface I’ll be pushing it on. Generally UK breaks involve either pavement, grassy areas, or a beach – if you’re lucky you’ll get all three. No one wants a stroller that doesn’t allow you to, well, stroll.
With that in mind, these are my top 5 picks for your needs.
