Hair extensions are a great way to add length and volume to your style. They offer a quick and glamorous change to your look, as well as making it easy to disguise other hair issues. Lots of women find that their hair thins after pregnancy. Once your hair has started to lose its volume, it can mean it snaps easily too, making it difficult to gain any length too.
Opting for hair extensions can give you the hair you want without battling through the time and effort to grow it. If you don’t want to deal with the upkeep of fixed in hair extensions, clip in are a fab alternative. they give you the freedom to change up your look and create glam, long-hair styles, then once your night is over, you can put them away until the next time you need them.
Using hair extensions can open up all kind of possibilities with your hairstyle. Whether you go fixed or clip-in, they enable you create glamorous and attention grabbing looks. They have also come down a lot in price over the past few years, meaning there are lots of place to look for cheap hair extensions.
My Fave Hairstyles for Hair Extensions in 2020

Up until recently, when I discovered my natural hair was as long as my extensions, I used clip in extensions to change my look. At first I would just curl them to blend them with my natural hair, but as time went on I would get more adventurous with my styles.
Below are my favourite hairstyles to wear hair extensions in and they’re all pretty easy to do (I’m no hairdresser and I can do them!)
Thick and Chunky Braids
Chunky, raised braids are really in right now, but most people don’t have enough natural hair to get the desired look. Hair extensions can bulk out both the thickness and length to allow you to create the most Pinterest-worthy of braids.
Half Up, Half Down
This is a style that was massive as I was growing up and then just disappeared for years. If you’ve been paying attention to style trends on Instagram, you’ll see this style is back but only for super-sleek long locks. Having extensions in and some good straighteners will help you perfect this look. To keep it neat, don’t take the full half-head up, instead just use the font-mid section to keep it neat.
Long and Curly
Look red carpet-ready with luscious, thick curls. This was my favourite style when I wore my extentions. It’s the perfect, glam look for any hair styling novices and it disguises the different hair lengths by making them virtually invisible.
Medieval/Boho Belle
I love a relaxed hairstyle finished off with a floral crown. Either work curl balm through naturally dried hair to give it some boho texture or add a braid or plait to give a more medieval feel. Finish the look with a floral crown for an effortless look that’s a winner in the style stakes. I love turning a slightly messy hairstyle into one that looks like a deliberate choice, just by adding a floral crown. I feel like I’ve discovered a real time-saving (maybe even life-changing) hack!
