I’ve always been a fan of clip in hair extensions for their convenience. I love how I can have shorter hair for day-to-day life, but when it comes to a special occasion, I can clip in more hair and get the glam look of much longer hair. That’s why I was really excited when Cliphair offered me some clip in hair extensions to try for this review.
I have naturally thick hair, so I always go for clip in hair extensions with a lot of volume. My hair is also pretty long, so my favourite length to go for is 20 inches.
The hair extensions are 100% human hair, so I was really pleased to find when I opened them that they were really silky to touch and felt like it was unlikely they’re get tangled. They even had tags on them to say they were tangle free! This is important to me, as I’ve bought low quality extensions in the past that have felt rough to touch and got knotty quickly (which no one wants to happen!).
I couldn’t wait to try them but on the day they arrived, I was just about to have 6 inches chopped off my own hair to make it more manageable. I’d been worried about taking the plunge and chopping a load of hair off, but seeing the quality of my new extensions really persuaded me that I was making the right decision. I’m so relieved that I’ve had a lot of hair cut off, but I can still get the long hair look with these extensions.
What I Thought of the Clip in Hair Extensions from Cliphair
The colour matched perfectly, the texture was gorgeous and the length was so glam. All that was left to do was try them in my hair!
In case you’ve never had clip in hair extensions before, I thought I’d quickly tell you a bit about them. They clip into your hair near the root with little clips that ‘snap’ into place (see picture above). I section my hair off and clip them in a bit at a time and style as I go along (either straighten or curl, real hair allows you to style as normal).
This is what my hair looked like before:
You can probably see it’s a mid/long length but it’s thinner on the bottom than it is on the top. My hair is thick but lower down it seems to snap off (probably from the bleach).
After I’d clipped the hair extensions from Cliphair in, I brushed through with a normal brush and they blended really well. They added both length and volume which I loved. I would say they felt like I had my old hair back, but really,my old hair that I’d just chopped off was never this nice! This is how it turned out:
I think it looks really full and glam and I don’t think you can tell I’ve got extensions in at all!
Here’s a side by side comparison:
