A little over two weeks ago, I declared enough was enough on my blog’s Facebook page and asked which slimming club I should join. After a health (and fertility) scare, I knew I had to make some massive changes.
I received loads of comments and messages from members of all different slimming clubs, but the members of Slimming World really stood out. Especially since Just Average Jen lost a whopping 10st one the plan!
Most of the Slimming World members talked about how easy it was to follow because the nature of the diet meant you would never be hungry. I liked the sound of eat all day and still losing weight, so I decided to pop along to a meeting.
For the purpose of marking the start of my journey. This is my before picture:

So far I’ve found the plan very easy to follow, I’ve tried not to use my syns during the day unless I absolutely need to. That way, if I fancy something ridiculous at the 9 o’clock witching hour (aka when the kids are in bed and I’m on the sofa in front of Netflix) I can totally get away with a little treat.
So far, I’ve only really spent my syns on the Hi-Fi bars, because they don’t use many and they’re totally delicious. I even crumbled one and added it to my porridge the other morning, which I’m quite willing to admit was a fantastic idea.

The fact I can eat a fry-up like this one below blows my mind (my bread is healthy choice B, so no syns were harmed in the making of this breakfast).
The sausages were from Iceland and also syn-free. On other days I’ve skipped the bread and thrown in an extra egg if I want to spend my healthy B on something else.
What I think about my first two weeks on Slimming World
I’ve really loved the fact I’ve not had to limit or count certain foods, it makes cooking for the family easier and kept my hunger at bay. I lost 8lb in my first week and 2lb in my second but my son was in hospital for 3 days on week 2, which meant good choices were often limited. I’m hoping to get another 4lbs in the next week or two so I can tick off my first stone (I’ve got a lot to lose.)
My kitchen looks like this now:

I also feel a lot healthier. I still have loads to lose (and I mean LOADS) but I’m much more positive now than I ever have been. I’ve become a bit obsessed with Slimming World accounts on Instagram too. I’ve set up my own Slimming World Instagram account separate from my main blog one, so if you’re following the diet, I’d love it if you’d follow me too and I’ll follow back. I need all the help and encouragement I can get!
This is my special Slimming World Instagram: slimming_jennyahm I hate to beg, but please follow me! I need some more slimming foodies to follow and chat to!
