Dermalogica body duo thermafoliant and body oil.

Dermalogica Body Collection Review – Revamp Your Bathing

Ad – I was sent these products as part of the #Skinfluencer programme

Dermalogica body collection - boxed, on display at the side of my bath
Both the Dermalogica Thermafoliant Body Scrub and Phyto Replenish Body Oil were sent to me for the purpose of this review.

Dermalogica is a brand that I always recommend. Ever since I overhauled my skincare routine with their help I have been in love. Based on the products I’ve tried, their whole range smells great, is gentle on skin (if like me, you need it to be) and somehow works miracles. I can’t be certain that it’s not magic!

The new Dermalogica body products I was sent

When I found out Dermalogica launched a new body collection, I knew I really wanted to try it. I was very kindly sent the Thermafoliant Body Scrub and the Phyto Replenish Body Oil to try out.

Dermalogica Thermafoliant Body Scrub

Dermalogica Thermafoliant Body Scrub review
The Dermalogica Thermafoliant body scrub comes out as a thick paste.

The Thermafoliant body scrub is designed to exfoliate and energise your skin, scrubbing off any dull, dead skin and brightening its overall appearance. It energises your skin by delivering important anti-oxidants

As expected, the thermafoliant smells lovely – probably because it’s made up of licorice, white tea, grapefruit and coffeeberry which help give it its light and natural scent. Bamboo stem is one of the exfoliating ingredients, as is papain and lactic acid, which smooth and brighten your skin.

Phyto Replenish Body Oil

Dermalogica body duo thermafoliant and body oil.
The Dermalogica Phyto Replenish body oil is a perfect way to lock in moisture after a bath.

The Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Body Oil calms and nourishes the skin post bath. Apply to clean, dry skin to benefit from antioxidant ingredients and replenish your skin’s natural lipid layer. You skin will feel soft and beautiful.

Again, this product smells amazing – light and fresh, not heavily scented. It leaves your skin looking and  feeling revitalised.

Buy the body oil from Dermalogica’s website.

The Dermalogica Body Collection has helped with my Keratosis Pilaris

If like me, you’ve ever had the appearance of red bumps at the tops of your arms, legs or anywhere else, you’ve experienced a condition called Karatosis Pilaris. It’s basically a common skin condition that’s totally harmless.

These tiny bumps usually form around hair follicles and it lilely to be caused by the overproduction of keratin and you might be more prone to it if you suffer from hayfever, asthma or eczma (I have all three). For me, it comes and goes, but since getting pregnant with my third child it came back.

The body combo that has worked wonders

After using the thermafoliant and moisturising with the phyto oil, they’ve almost completely gone! I wish I’d taken a before and after photo, but to be honest, it’s a result I wasn’t expecting so I don’t have a comparison for you. The bumps have gone now and there are just a few traces of reddish hair follicles, but nothing very noticeable.

I’ve been reading up on it and exfoliation is meant to help, but I had been using exfoliators prior to trying to the thermafolient scrub from Dermalogica and they had done nothing. All I can think is that the ingredients in the scrub and oil have worked their magic and sorted out my skin!

You’ll love to read about this calming winter skincare routine and this simpler everyday Dermalogica Skincare Routine. You might also like the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum review.
