Dermalogica Skincare Review
I follow the beauty community very closely, often lusting after products and making a mental shopping list. Truthfully, I can’t afford to buy everything on my wish list (still praying for that lottery win), but the one thing I will splash out on is skincare.
At the ripe old age of 32, after a decade of sleeping in makeup and using overly abrasive scrubs during my 20s, I need to listen to my skin. Signs of ageing become more prominent when you hit 30, and I want to stave them off for as long as possible.

My Dermalogica Skincare Routine
Before starting my new Dermalogica skincare routine, I was struggling with large pores, fine lines around my eyes, flaky skin on my forehead and blackheads on my nose and chin. I had been making the mistake of trying to find one product that would fix everything, but I now know that’s not how it works.
The best way to to fix multiple skin issues is to incorporate a skincare routine that involves products that address one or two areas of concern.
I told Dermalogica about the concerns I had with my skin, and they sent me some products that would do the job.

Dermalogica Precleanse

The precleanse oil is perfect for taking off makeup and removing other impurities from you skin. Because it’s an oil, it’s a little on the runny side, so you don’t need a lot of product to do a the job.
I’m a big fan of the double-cleanse, and this oil makes it a very easy process. It has no artificial fragrances added, but has a light and refreshing scent that adds to the clean feeling this skincare provides.
You don’t need to wet your face first, apply it to a dry face using dry hands. The oil melts away your makeup (yes – even waterproof mascara) and leaves you with a smudgy look until you wash it off with water and move onto step 2…
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel

The special cleansing gel goes straight on after the precleanse (although I use it as the first step in the morning). It’s a clear gel that you’re supposed to work into a gentle lather before applying to your face.
Once lathered, it feels creamy and cleansing without feeling harsh, like it’s stripping away any of my skin’s important oils. It contains soothing lavender extracts, which you can catch the scent of while you use it (but without it being overpowering).
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

This has probably been my favourite product in my Dermalogica review. It’s an exfoliator, but like no other exfoliator you’ve seen before. It comes in powder form and you have to get it a tiny bit wet to form a paste before you apply.
You have to rub the microfoliant into your skin in circular motions and it gradually exfoliates your skin. It’s gentle enough to use every day and it keeps your skin looking bright. I like to use it in the morning because it helps to give smooth surface for makeup application. I’ll sometimes use it at night, if I’ve had a heavy makeup day and need to make sure I’m fully cleansed.
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

Dermalogica skin smoothing cream with HydraMesh technology is designed to be a sophisticated moisturiser that locks in hydration. It’s aim is to reduce trans-epidermal water loss, and form a shield from envirnomental stress.
I’ve noticed my skin has been a lot smoother and more hydrated since I’ve been using the skin smoothing cream. It’s a light formula that absorbs quickly and allows for makeup application shortly after.
Dermalogica Skinperfect Primer

I love this primer! I wear it instead of foundation most days.
It disguises large pores, it mattifies. It’s just amazing!
It’s really light and glides on with ease. The primer is a light, peachy colour which means it evens out skintones and gives a really natural look.
I’ve tried it under foundation as well as on its own and my favourite thing about it is that it perfects your skin! It smoothes over your skin without being too drying. My fine lines disappear with good hydration and only return with dehydrated skin, so I’m glad this primer is dehydrating like some can be.
Dermalogica Review Overall Impression

I’ve loved taking part in this Dermalogica review. My skin has massively improved and most of my original issues with my skin have been completely wiped out. My skin is clear and smooth, and I reckon I could even pass for someone in their (late) twenties!
