Yours Plus Size Dresses Review – Bold Prints for the Summer Season!

ad

Yours plus size dresses have often caught my eye. They’re a brand that bring on-trend styles to plus size bodies and I absolutely love them for it. In fact, I’d say they’re probably more size inclusive than most because they cater for a massive range of sizes, from 14-40.

Yours Clothing always has tonnes of gorgeous styles for each season, so when they got in touch to ask if I’d like to review some clothing items, I almost bit their hand off! I’ve been meaning to update my wardrobe since my littlest was born (2 years ago!)

I like to choose fashion that will stay in style for a while. It’s why I don’t update my wardrobe very often and it’s hugely reflected in the clothes I chose to review. I picked four plus sized dresses to review and I believe I’ll be wearing these for years to come. The quality is great and the design is pretty much timeless.

Yours Plus Size Dresses Review

My tastes are naturally flamboyant, but since I had my little girl, I’ve just been hiding in baggy black outfits. Doing this collaboration with Yours has really helped me find my style again and I’m so in love with what I ordered.

Below are the dresses I went for and what I thought of them!

Curve Navy Blue Leopard Print Wrap Milkmaid Dress (Limited Collection)

I’m obsessed with the colour of this dress. The blue is so rich and vibrant, it’s a colour I’ve been searching far and wide for for years. I think because it doesn’t follow a seasonal trend (like neons tend to – they blow up then quickly disappear), it makes it a stylish choice whenever you wear it. It’s nice as a summer dress on those cooler days, but when the autumn and winter come round, it can be worn with tights and boots.

The cut of the dress is gorgeous too. It creates some smooth lines and doesn’t clung too much to my belly area. I carry more obvious weight on my belly so I tend to choose clothes that skim it rather than cling so I don’t feel self-conscious. I’d also say my the size is as expected, which is important when you’re plus size as sizing in general is often all over the place!

It’s called a milkmaid dress, so you can choose to wear it off the shoulder and it’ll stay up (there is extra elastic around that shoulder area), but I prefer to wear it fully covering my shoulders. I think it looks great either way.

Curve Black Floral Short Sleeve Midaxi Dress

This dress is lovely and lightweight. It’s the kind of material that you can just wash and hang out to dry then it doesn’t crease if you hang it straight up. I’m a big fan of low maintenance clothes (and I’m not a fan of the iron) so that was a huge bonus for me.

The fabric is quite thin, which makes it a great choice for warmer weather. The fabric is also incredibly pretty. The pink and red really complement each other but the pattern isn’t overpowering. I find a lot of plus size clothing tends to have millions of little flowers on it, which isn’t my style. I love the larger, bolder prints and this little number ticks all the boxes.

The fit is great too, another style that has some breathing room and doesn’t cling to my belly. Again, I’d say the fit is as expected.

Curve Black Floral V-Neck Swing Dress

maxi dress

I’m a sucker for a maxi dress, but this one with a low V neckline and a large bright print is the dress of my dreams. I wore it on the school run on a really hot day and everyone commented on it. It’s a show-stopper and it’ll be getting a lot of wear this summer.

The colours pop out against the black background and make a perfect summer palette. If low cut isn’t your bag, you could easily wear a black cami under this to raise the neckline, but I didn’t bother. Yet again, the fit is spot on.

Curve Pink Leaf Print Skater Dress

The final dress is this lovely skater number. The fabric is much more rigid that the others, but the dress still fits well. This is probably my favourite style of dress – there’s something about a flared skirt that makes me feel super feminine. I love the print and this dress feels like something I wear as a wedding guest or any other formal occasion, as well as just an afternoon with friends.

If you wanted to add a little bit of wow to the outfit, you could stick a petticoat underneath to puff up the skirt more and pair it with heels. I do think it’s pretty stunning as it is though (the same as in the picture).

Yours Plus Size Dresses Review – Overall Opinion

I’m really impressed with the selection of plus size dresses from Yours Clothing. All of the dresses were what I’d consider true to size. One of the biggest things I noticed was that the clothes were designed to be fashionable.

Sometimes it can be hard to find plus size clothing that doesn’t seem like it’s aimed at an older market. I’m 35 and love fashion, people like me want to be on-trend, and don’t want to be penalised in the fashion stakes just because we wear a bigger size. Your Clothing has absolutely nailed it and made me feel as glamorous as I deserve to. Ten out of ten – would recommend!
