When the cold weather arrives, it often ruins my beauty routine My hands become dry, my lips become chapped and I end up with flaky patches of skin ruining my complexion.
My poor little boy has inherited my Winter skin problems too, so I’m often on the lookout for a multipurpose solution that will meet both our needs.

Fortunately, I discovered Aquaphor soothing skin balm at exactly the right time of year. I was sent a sample so that I could take part in the #MyAquaphor Challenge, and I was really glad to get my hands on it.
Aquaphor has a really thick texture, and comes out the tube slowly as a translucent, unscented balm. This is handy because you only need a little bit and wouldn’t want to squeeze out too much!
How I use Aquaphor:
There’s a special place in my heart for a multipurpose balm that you can even apply to cracked skin. There’s also a special place in my bathroom cabinet (see shelfie below).
Aquaphor has been so much more than just a hand cream, that I’ve managed to put together a list of how it gets used in our house.
The Manicure Companion
What’s the point of paying for a manicure, if you’re hands are so chapped that you never show it off? None! Obviously. This has been my life for as many winters as I can remember. I’ll spend all summer with relatively normal-looking hands, then as soon as the cold weather hits, my dry skin comes back and manicures are off the table.
It took about five days of me using Aquaphor balm on my hands before my dry skin had disappeared, but I noticed an improvement almost immediately. I celebrated my soft hands with a festive manicure and nail extensions. What do you think of the colour?
The Daily Defender
My little boy has pretty sensitive skin too, and often suffers from dry patches. I’ve been putting Aquaphor on my son’s face and hands before he goes to nursery, and so far his skin has been protected from the cold and not flared up so far-even though it was sleeting the other day (it’s grim up north)!
I think when this tube runs out, we’ll invest in a big one, since I’m not the only one using it!
I’ve been getting really dry skin on my chin and along my jawline. When I do, I usually have to stop wearing foundation because it highlights my overall flaky (even with primer). I’ve found that using Aquaphor on the dry bits instead of primer (while using primer on the rest of my face), stops my foundation from looking cracked and crusty. It completely camouflages the dry area and makes me look like I love a lovely complexion (when I really don’t)!
Aquaphor is a really versatile balm and I love how effective it is, no matter how I use it.
