National Feet Week Goodies

#NationalFeetWeek – Caring for Your Feet! | AD

How well do you care for your feet? Since becoming pregnant for the third time, I’ve taken a lot more care with my feet. Normally I don’t treat them with the care they deserve, and I suspect I’m not the only one!

Did you know appointments with the podiatrist as just as important as a dental check or a trip to the opticians? Many people ignore common foot complaints which can lead to greater discomfort and problems if left untreated.

National Feet Week want to change this! For 2020, #NationalFeetWeek runs from 9th-15th March. The aim is to encourage everyone to prioritise foot health, as would do any other medical appointments.

Take Care of Your Feet!

Look after your feet. Pic of my feet (red painted toenails and some goodies send over for national feet week!)

Your feet are such an important part of your body. It’s insane that most people will forget to give them the TLC they deserve. After all, they’re your first mode of transport. They get you from A to B and from the sofa to the kitchen for your cuppa. Where would you be without your feet?

I was sent a gorgeous footcare bundle from the team behind National Feet Week to help me give them a little bit of love. As someone who is heavily pregnant (and heavily fed up), I was delighted to receive the pamper package!

  • My footcare package contianed:
  • Palmers Coconut Sugar Foot Scrub
  • Palmers Coconut Water Foot Cream
  • Dr Anders Podiatrist Intensive Rescue Balm
  • Pernation Gel for joint massage
  • Some funky neon laces
  • and some Haribo for a little pick-me-up!

You might wonder what the laces are for, but they actually play a very important part in foot health. Below is a handy infographic to show you how different lace fastenings work for different things.

How I’ve Been Looking After My Feet During Pregnancy

If I’m honest, I didn’t ramp up my foot care until my belly got big and feet started to feel the strain. I mostly wear flat shoes or boots anyway, so I didn’t need to invest in new footwear. I’ve mostly given up wearing trainers in past weeks because I can barely reach my laces!

I’ve been having regular soaks in the bath, but on days I don’t, I’ve been soaking my feet. I try and exfoliate my feet a couple of times a week and love nothing better than putting loads of thick moisturiser on then wearing socks to help it sink in. Since I’ve been doing that, my feet have been lovely and soft!
