Heroes of Goo Jit Zu toys have been a big hit in out house for a while. Greg is 7 and absolutely loves playing with these, jiggly, stretchy characters. We even wrote about series 2 of the range, which is why we were delighted to receive some Goo Shifters to review.
Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Goo Shifters are a fun new range in the series. Expect to see all your favourites – Thrash, Rock Jaw, Blazagon, Tyro, Pantaro, Bengal, and the ULTRA RARE Corruptagon, but this time there’s a twist!
The Goo Shifters each contain a secret core that you need to crush to unleash the goo filling. Each Hero of Goo Jit Zu Goo Shifter has a unique filling to collect.
Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Goo Shifters Review
The Goo Shifters are a fun new way to play with the Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Range. They’re still super-stretchy and gooey, but when they’re brand new, you don’t yet know what’s in the core.
The core is a squishy ball inside the middle of the Goo Shifter that needs to be crushed to release the goo formation. Before you crush the core, the toys look (and sometimes feel) totally different.
Crush the Core!
Tyro (pictured below) arrived as a light purple colour and seemed to be watery inside. You can see in the picture that the filling is plane and the yellow ball inside is the core to be crushed.
Crushing the core take a bit of effort, so don’t worry, you have no chance of doing it accidentally. Ours took a little bit of squeezing, until a blue liquid burst out and changed the colour of the filling. We thought that was where the difference came, but the following morning, our Tyro was filled with squidgy blue balls!
It was such a fun surprise to find that our Hero of Goo Jitzu looked and felt completely different a few hours after we crushed the core.
Our second Goo Shifter was Blazagon.
Blazagon was a light pink colour and also filled with a thin watery fluid.
After we crushed the core, Blazagon was filled with red, glittery good that was much thicker than the original filling. He was still stretchy and Greg is thrilled with his new toys.
Our Thoughts on Goo Shifters
I was really impressed with the Goo Shifters range. I thought the change in texture of the filling was pretty amazing. I’d be glad to give these as a gift to my nephews and I know a few more will be on Greg’s Christmas list (he’s collecting them).
Greg was the real person who fully put them to the test, and he was amazed! He’s honestly so pleased with them and he was also fascinated by the change in texture. He also enjoyed the aspect of crushing the core and activating the goo formation.
