Eufy SpaceView Baby Monitor Review

I’ve been wanting to try a baby monitor with a camera for a while. My son is asthmatic and earlier this year he had a nasty chest infection, which led to him aspirating in the midst of an asthma attack. Ever since then, we’ve been really jumpy and keep running up to his room to peep at him every time he makes a weird noise.

Since trying the Eufy SpaceView Baby Monitor, we’ve finally been able to relax. We can see him without disturbing him and if he’s sick or having a coughing fit, we can see him (although thankfully that hasn’t happened lately).

Setting Up the Eufy SpaceView Baby Monitor

The set up is pretty simple, you can just plug it in and it works straight away. You do need to charge the monitor  before first use, but that’s no hardship. You can install a little shelf to have the camera up in the corner of a room, but ours was in the perfect position on top of a chest of drawers, so we didn’t bother with any DIY.

When bedtime came, we told Greg not to touch it, and we were away!

Extra Info

We got the standard one camera to use with out monitor, but you can add up to four, which I think is really cool. The monitor also has a microphone, so I can speak to Greg over the monitor. I really like this function and so does Greg, it means when he’s doing a spot of time-wasting at bedtime, I don’t have to go up 4000 times to tuck him in.

There is also a wide angle lens which I didn’t use but probably would if I was using this while Greg was smaller.

Overall thoughts on the Eufy SpaceView Baby Monitor

I love it! Being able to see Greg whenever I like has really given me peace of mind. It’s been helpful for keeping him asleep longer, as he would often rouse slightly if I went in his room to check on him. I also really like the microphone function on the monitor – being able to talk to him his great!

The sound is a little quieter than I’m used to, but if I had a crying baby I’m sure it would  be loud enough. I really like being able to see and speak to Greg and find the picture and sound quality really clear.
