I’m getting to the point where I’ve come full circle. Lockdown is lifting a little, I’m 12 weeks post partum and I’m ready to start looking human again. I’ve enjoyed my time lounging in style, but I’m ready for a little extra glamour.
Thankfully, my friends over at Femme Luxe have sent me some gorgeous items from their jumpsuit collection to celebrate their “Stay at Home Summer” campaign. After all, this summer we’ll be doing a lot of staying at home!
Stay at Home Summer
So what if no one is going on holiday this summer and we’ve spent a chunk of the year cooped up? It’s no reason stop trying to feel good. I know for me, feeling good goes hand in hand with making an effort with my appearance.
I gave birth at the beginning of lockdown, so didn’t see any point in rushing to get back to doing my makeup (or getting dressed before the afternoon). It’s been a comfy, cosy time, but ultimately it needed to end.
I’m less sleep deprived now, and I’m ready to style my hair, do my makeup and wear something nice. Thankfully, jumpsuits are stretchy clothing items so they’re still pretty comfy to wear!
Black Slinky Wide Leg Plunge Jumpsuit – Gemma
I went for this jumpsuit because it looked like it would feel nice on. I wasn’t wrong! It’s stretchy and reasonably forgiving. I got it in the biggest size, which is a 16, but I believe I probably would be comfier in an 18 if they made one. I’m still getting used to my postpartum body, I’ve lost weight but I’m a different shape so not everything fits how it would’ve before I got pregnant.
The fabric is soft to touch and very stretchy, which is what you want when you’re a little unsure of your size.

Stone Slinky Wide Leg Plunge Jumpsuit – Gemma
This is the same as the one above, but obviously in a lighter, stone colour. It’s a lovely colour but a bit less forgiving than the black, I’ll probably wear this when I’ve lost a little more of the baby weight. Again, it’s the same material so it’s slinky, stretchy and super comfy but totally glam.

Black Mesh Polka Dot High Neck Jumpsuit – Stephanie
I’d say this is probably the most glamorous jumpsuit of the lot. The sheer polka dot mesh makes it feel a bit more dressy so I’d probably wear this for stay-home date night. You need to wear a top under the top half and I didn’t have anything suitable to hand, so I won’t model this one (otherwise you’ll get an eyeful!)
We can’t go anywhere, but we can make an effort to look nice, eat some nice food and spend a bit of time together that doesn’t involve housework or keeping an eye on feral kids.
