Aimed at preschoolers, this series of books opens the dialogue when it comes to things little ones might want to discuss. One book focuses on our differences and what makes us special, while another is all about bringing home a baby sister. The books combine encouraging an interest in literacy from a young age, with real life issues preschooler may face.

My son is in foundation stage – a year older than the target audience but still got a lot out of these books. He’s a confident reader and enjoyed sitting with me, reading the stories and talking about what was on each page.

We were sent the range of books for the purpose of this review and we’ve got another full set for one of you lucky readers to win! Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find our how to enter!

Dougie’s Diary Book Series Review

Dougie is a lovable dinosaur who lives with his family, loves playing with trains and has lots of friends. This series of books follows him while he navigates situations the world as a preschooler.

Dougie illustrayions

Each book is bursting with bright and beautiful illustrations, which are bound to capture your child’s attention. Khaira manages to keep these stories interactive by adding questions and tasks on each double page spread, which is a brilliant way of keeping attention on the page.

In the age of tablets, I think books need that little extra something for the little ones. The younger they are, the faster their attention seems to wander (in my experience).

What Greg Thought of the Dougie’s Diary Range

Greg Reading

Greg really loved the books! The illustrations are gorgeous, he enjoys the tasks and talking points. They kept his interest nicely and because he’s a little bit more of an experienced reader, he can read the words by himself.
