*AD – We were sent a Zuru Bunch O Balloons party pack to help us plan our own stress-free party

I’m one of those mums who relies on parenting hacks to get by – partly because I’m busy, but mostly because I’m a bit lazy. Finding easy ways to get stuff done is more or less the only way I can ensure I get anything at all done! That’s why I’m going to share my tips for hosting a stress-free birthday party!
Hosting a Stress-Free Party is Pretty Easy
My main aim when it comes to hosting a children’s party is to have as little responsibility as few jobs as possible. That’s why you’ll never see me host at my own house, or suggest I’ll put on a spread. I want everything to run as smoothly as possible and I want my to do list to be short (but I also want to meet all birthday wishes for a little boy)!
Host away from home

Whatever you do, never offer to have the party at your house. If you host the party at home you’ll have to tidy before, during and after. You’ll uncover unexpected piles of concealed crumbs weeks after the big day. Just don’t do it!
We chose a play area to host Greg’s party, which also provided the food and cut up your cake for the party bags if you handed it in to them at the start. Depending on the child’s age and the time of year, you might want to consider a farm visit, ice skating, or a venue that allows a disco then provides a meal as part of the package.
If it’s someone else’s job to both prepare and pack away, your load has instantly lightened.
Preparing the party bags

Some places will offer a party bag service, but we’ve always preferred to arrange our own to make sure the children get something we know they’ll like.
Generally I buy various party bag selection bundles and tailor the bags as I go along, with slight variations. I like to include sweets, bubbles, a surprise toy, stickers and stationery. This year we got most of our party bag fillers added on to our weekly shop. We were also very kindly send some Smashers which covered our need for a surprise toy.

Making your own party bags generally means you can buy in bulk to get loads of great stuff and it doesn’t have to cost the earth. Smashers are a great surprise toy to include, because to uncover what’s inside, you have to smash the surprise eggs on the ground.
Greg loves collecting Smashers so it was lovely to put something we already knew was lots of fun in the bags. In fact, we’ve always Zuru make great party bag fillers!
Balloons! Balloons! Balloons!

When it comes to preparing balloons, there’s no need to run out of puff in this day and age. We used out Bunch O Balloons pump for super-speedy inflation of multiple balloons. The pump has a setting on that can inflate 40 balloons in 40 seconds.
Watch the video below of us inflating 16 for the party. Speedy, right?
Gone are the days of spending hours blowing up balloons, this pump is a massive time-saver. Everyone who came to the party got a balloon tied to their party bag, and we filled our lounge with them too!

We had one very happy birthday boy!
Of course, you can’t throw a party without getting the birthday boy a gift, and the kind people at Zuru sent Greg a Robo Alive dinosaur – which he absolutely loved!

Who wouldn’t love a dinosaur who roars, bites and chases you through the house?
