It’s the perfect time to show your appreciation by choosing a thoughtful gift that reflects exactly what she likes.

Top Picks for Mother’s Day Gifts 2023

Whether you’re looking for a sentimental keepsake or a practical present, we’ve got you covered.

So, take a look and get inspired to make this Mother’s Day one she’ll never forget.

As with all gift the gift guides I write, I include a handful of carefully picked PR samples alongside items I’ve paid for myself. So although this article is marked as an ad, nobody has paid my to write it and I’ve put a lot of thought into the suggestions.

Colourful Gin Glasses

colourful gin glasses

I’m obsessed with how how beautiful these colourful gin glasses are. Brighten up your mum’s cupboard with this set of 4 mixed colour gin glasses.

They’re absolutely stunning, the perfect size for a splash of gin and will give her that summer feeling, even though it’s still freezing outside!

These retail at £19.99, which I think is a steal. There are also some other beautiful styles of glass in the range if your mum’s a Prosecco mum and not a gin mum.

Face & Body Oil

Made by Coopers Face & Body Oil

Show your mum you love her by presenting her with some luxury skincare. Made By Coopers always get it right when it comes to making awesome self-care products.

There are a few gorgeous face & body oils in the range. The oil pictured is the ‘relaxing’ oil, which is beautifully scented with  lavender, frankincense and ylang ylang.

This face and body oil is said to have anti-aging properties. By adding to the skin’s natural moisture, it reduces fine lines helps the skin gain a natural, dewy glow.

A Beautiful Bouquet

Bouquet of Flowers from The Enchanted Garden in Healing, Grimsby

I don’t know of any mother out there who doesn’t appreciate a lovely bunch of Mother’s Day flowers.

What’s not to love? They look fabulous, they smell amazing and they generally brighten the place up – a bit like a mum! (I know I’m cheesy,  but you have permission to use that on the card if you like!)

I bought these beauties from The Enchanted Garden Florist in Healing, Grimsby. If you’re local, you really need to have a look!

A Good Book

Felix Unbound Book

When your mum loves to read, you can easily wow her with a good book. I’m currently reading Felix Unbound and I think it would make a great gift.

A fun book with a very unique storyline, she’ll have never read anything like this before. Here’s the blurb so you can see for yourself:

“When feisty Tiffany loses her temper with boyfriend Anthony, and accidentally topples a set of inherited Egyptian figurines, ancient forces take their mischievous revenge…and grant her careless wish that men were more like her tabby cat, Felix.

It’s fun at first, as Tiffany and Felix gleefully launch him into her social circle, but it soon becomes clear that charismatic Felix spells trouble. As he wins lightning fast success as a talented artist, Tiffany and her friends’ relationships begin to flex and recalibrate – not always for the better.”

Some Skin Treats

L'Oreal Hyaluronic Acid

Ever since I was told “hyaluronic acid is a like a huge for your skin” I’ve been trying everything that contains it. L’Oreal have a huge (and always expanding) hyaluronic acid range that helps plump and hydrate your skin.

Your mum will love a gorgeous skin treat from the range. I personally am a big fan of the products pictured (face serum, under eye serum and plumping cream).

Adding hyaluronic acid into your routine really helps create a hydrated base for applying makeup, but also does wonders on its own.

I get mine from Boots, but they’re available from most big beauty stores.

A Good Night’s Sleep

belledorm pillow case

I’m pretty certain every mother out there has joked that she wants a good night’s sleep for Mother’s Day, so why not give her one?

Provide somewhere soft and sumptuous to lay her head.

A silk pillow case from Belledorm will give her a luxuriously silky surface to sleep on. Some of the main benefits of a silk pillowcase (besides it being both comfy and hypoallergenic) is that it’s great for your skin and hair.

The pillowcase itself doesn’t wrinkle or snag, meaning it’s gentle on your skin and hair. Skincare fanatics have long been citing the pros of a silk pillowcase, while those in the haircare space are also singing their praises.

Soothing Cream

methoderm

Soothing cream might not seem like your usual Mother’s Day gift, but anyone suffering from hot, itchy, or menopausal skin conditions will be delighted by it.

There’s nothing worse than irritated skin, so if your mum struggles with this, a tube of Menthoderm will be gratefully received.

You can buy several different sizes of this from SK1N.

A Posh Mug

Mug

Mums need their own special mug. It’s just a fact. If your mum doesn’t have a mug that everyone recognises as her special mug then you’re doing her a disservice.

Obviously every mum has a mug-type preference, so I can’t influence your decision. If you’re not sure, you need to ask yourself if you have a thirsty mum or a fancy mum.

I’m a thirsty mum, so I’m delighted by any mug that’s bigger than average size.

A fancy mum will want a mug that looks good. Maybe a designer, or one with an intricate design.

The best way to tell what kind of mum you’ve got is whether she’s constantly got the kettle on for a cuppa. If she never drinks full cup of tea, she probably doesn’t need a bigger mug.

Earrings

Earrings

Does your mum have pierced ears? If yes, then earrings are a great present. Please check this before you buy her some, if those ears aren’t pierced then you’ll have wasted your cash.

I like fun earrings that have lots of personality. I picked these earrings from the picture up in a cool shop called Anything Goes which is local to me (Cleethorpes).

They’re from a business called Baba Roo, and luckily for you, they have a website and post out there stuff! These guys are actually a great gift company and sell some awesome gift bundles in a box they call Happy Mail.

If you’re quick, you can get your hands on a special Mother’s Day Happy Mail box before the big day!

A Reusable Sheet Mask

Genovi reusable mask

Do you ever think about what happens to your disposable sheet masks once you’ve used them?

I get through quite a lot, and hadn’t stopped to think what this means for the environment. That’s a lot of waste that a lot of people probably haven’t considered.

Genovi Beauty have found a solution for this with their reusable sheet mask!

This silicone sheet mask can be reused again and again, reducing your waste when it comes to skin treatments.

Switch your mum over to a reusable sheet mask and both her skin and the environment will thank you.

Some Glow-Enhancing Toner

Ole Henrikson Toner

As a skincare enthusiast, I love to try new things. I hadn’t heard of this brand (Ole Henriksen) until I got some of this Dark Spot Toner in a beauty box. After that, I was an immediate convert.

It’s marketed as a dark spot toner, which basically is for evening out skin tone and encouraging darker pigmented areas (like age spots) to lighten. It actually does so much more than that.

Apply after cleansing, and you’ll feel a little tingle. This is the toner doing its job. Aside from evening out skin tone, it also smooths the skin and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

I can’t remember if it says on the instructions, but you’ll need to wear sunscreen after using this.

I buy mine from Boots.

Some Elite Hair Care

Living Proof haircare

One of my favourite ‘treat’ hair products is an overnight serum from Living Proof. It’s a little more expensive than regular drug store haircare, which is why I think of it as a treat.

I think it’s a well-known fact that mums don’t often splurge on themselves, so some luxury hair care products might never have crossed her mind.

The Living Proof range is full of high quality hair care that makes you feel like you’ve just been to the hairdressers. When you use it.

It’s well worth the money to treat an extra special mum.
