The Red Letter Days Especially for Him experience is a fantastic gift for the man in your life who has everything. It gives him the freedom to choose, while giving you the knowledge you’ve got him something awesome that will show how much you care. The gift experience is a multi-choice voucher meaning it can be used on any number of things. In fact, there are over 1730 experiences available in the UK. From driving a fancy car to  a lesson with a golf pro, there’s something for all interests.

We decided to use our experience on a meal out. Having three kids means we don’t get out much, so it was really lovey to go for a slap up lunch! Since we live in Grimsby, there aren’t a lot of chains in our town, so it’s a great excuse for a nearby day out. We headed down to Lincoln and used our voucher in Zizzi.

Zizzi in Lincoln is really nice. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and don’t leave you waiting. We ended up bringing our toddler with us and the staff members were incredibly helpful, bringing us a high chair over and some crayons to colour in the kids’ menu. While we were deciding, we got some complimentary pasta crisps which were delicious and I’d buy by the bagful if I could.

We decided to go all out and treat our meal as a bit of a date, even though Orlaith was with us. We went for the whole shebang and had a starter, main and pudding. After all, it would be rude not to!

Rob went for the prawn skewers starter, which involved some of the biggest, juiciest prawns I’ve ever seen! I went for calamari because I’m obsessed with it and can’t not order it if it’s on the menu.

For our mains, we both went a bit basic – with me ordering a lasagne and Rob getting a pizza. I feel these are kind of what’s expected though, since Zizzi is an Italian restaurant.

The pizza was huge and Rob loved it. I paid extra to have my lasagne super loaded, so it was full of cheesy, saucy goodness.

It had been years since I had a lasagne and this one did not disappoint. I’ve genuinely been thinking about it ever since!

Finally we moved onto puddings. I was already stuffed but still insisted on having a sundae, which was gorgeous.

And Rob had the cheesecake which came with a side of passion fruit and seemed very healthy compared to mine.

All in all, it was a lovely use of the experience voucher. The staff were lovely, the food was gorgeous and we had a really great time.
