Q4 eCommerce Clothing Trends You Should Know for Next Year

With so many clothing trends throughout 2022, it’s no surprise–considering their style–that some are making their way into 2023. As fashionistas know, some trends stick around for a long time, while others make a brief appearance before backing off from popularity as many trends emerge in the future. So let’s talk about some of the most recent clothing trends that might stick around for a while into the new year and 2023.

Metallic clothing, shoes, and accessories

Adding shine and luster to one’s wardrobe can be great, whether it involves a dress or skirt, pants, blouse, jacket, or other clothing items. However, those who prefer not to sport a complete metallic outfit could take a more low-key approach with shoes or accessories.

For example, metallic shoes come in a variety of styles. Metallic knee-high boots go the bold, daring route. On the other hand, ballet flats are more work-appropriate and have versatility with several different outfits and clothing pieces. In addition, remember to consider other metallic items, such as handbags, clutches, and accessories. As a result, they can pair with outfits in a range of hues, from white dresses and black pants suits to jeans with a t-shirt and shorts with a pullover, like the Bella + Canvas unisex quarter zip pullover fleece.

Bomber jackets

Chances are you have seen many people wearing bomber jackets in the past fall and winter, which will likely be the same in 2023. It offers many style options, but it is also warm chilly temps despite only going down to the waist or a little longer. In addition, the wearer can quickly put it over lightweight clothing pieces like t-shirts or heavier items like hoodies.

Those who wear this style should ensure that the bomber jacket properly fits for it to look its best. First, consider a larger size if you wear bulker hoodies or sweaters. Then, try it over the items you will likely wear with it to ensure it looks the way you want.

Bright, vibrant colors

Many vibrant colors have taken over the fashion world, from blazers to footwear to dresses. Many might feel bold hues aren’t for them, especially ones that are more on the neon side, but there is no reason you shouldn’t give them a try if you like them. Considering the bright hues’ popularity in 2022, you will likely still see them going into this year.

If you feel hesitant about wearing a bold ensemble, like a bright maxi dress or a pants-suit, don’t worry. You can start small and build up with colorful accessories. Smaller items may include a belt, clutch, hair accessory, or heels. Wear it for short outings, such as for a quick coffee with friends, and you can work your way to longer excursions and more extensive pieces if/as you feel more comfortable.

Goth apparel

You’ve probably seen the Netflix series Wednesday or at least heard of it. The love of the show and appreciation of the style has led many to change their home and wardrobe by incorporating more of the show’s and Wednesday’s goth style.

Many already have many black items in their wardrobe due to their versatility, but that doesn’t mean those black garments technically fall under the goth apparel umbrella just because of the color. Therefore, with a Wednesday-inspired style, think of blouses with ruffles, shirts with high collars, flowy dresses, chunky boots, and tulle, all in black and with splashes of white.

Just as with bright colors, if you want to partake in the trend but are still debating whether to jump into it right away, start where you are comfortable and a few pieces and go from there, including mixing in some pieces you already own. For example, you could try chunky boots with jeans and a black t-shirt or a black tulle skirt with a white tank top.

Stylish blazers

You have to love the appeal of a great blazer. While the garment has had fans for a long time, especially within the business and professional world, its popularity has grown throughout 2022, possibly continuing well into 2023.

However, blazers aren’t only for work purposes. Many wear them for off-hours, including while heading out with friends or running errands. They are not only for wearing as part of a matching skirt or pants-suit set. You can wear them with jeans, skirts, leggings, and shorts. Although, how you wear the blazer depends on where you plan to wear the outfit. if you will wear a blazer when going to a professional office environment or at a coffee shop with friends. Then, pairing a blazer with shorts is unlikely to meet the dress code according to work standards. Choosing it as a weekend no-work outfit could be a better alternative.

Should you stick to buying trends?

Whether or not you should stick to buying trends is subjective. For example, if you are buying clothing for your store, it might be a good idea to stock some trends, depending on if they would be a big hit with your customers. However, you also want to stay moderate if the craze starts to fade after you bulk up your inventory. Therefore, it is essential to research the latest trends and determine if they will persist for a season or two.

Should you want to stock the clothing trends in your wardrobe, consider buying them because you love them and not simply because they are one of the clothing items of the moment. If it leans more toward the latter than the former, you may spend your hard-earned money and hurt your profits on unworn clothing in your closet if the trend should fade at some point. However, buying it because you love it means you will likely take no issue with wearing it even if the trend is no more.

If any of the above trends interest you, look into them to see if any pieces would be great for you to buy for your clothing store or clothing collection. Switching things up and playing with your style could be an excellent opportunity to find items you will be excited to wear.
