Making The Garden Part Of Your Lifestyle

The garden has become a great place to be lately. We don’t want to sit in the home for hours on end, we want to be among flora and fauna, listen to the songs of birds, and watch the insects come and go from our garden. This is why we should consider making our garden more of a part of our lifestyle. With so many options, we are really at a great period in time when we can style our home however we wish. So if you have the time and the options, then use both! Let’s explore what your garden could be like, in order for it to be more familiar with your style and lifestyle needs.

Hanging around

One of the best things about modern gardens is that the hammock has arrived back in our favor. For a long time, hammocks were not as well approved of, because they looked a little untidy. We think of the hammock as something more rural, where there isn’t much style in the garden, it’s just there to be maintained. However, modern hammocks can be fitted to your garden quite easily. The hammocks can withstand hundreds of pounds so you can have two to each hammock. There are rope hammocks and sheet hammocks which you can hang on the pillar of your wooden pergola. If you have two trees close together then you can hang the hammock here. It’s a great place to read a book.

Split levels

Your patio and garden should have different levels to split up the area. For example, your patio dining area can be a couple of steps higher than the lawn. This separates the eating area where the family can gather from the rest of the garden. Everyone knows that this part of the garden is for seating, eating and talking. This gives those that are playing in the garden or perhaps lying under shade elsewhere, their own space. You can split these levels with plants and flowers, which go up to knee height. It’s also about the mindset of the patio. People feel like they are going up to a different part of the home, something that is its own space.

A smooth surface

A great patio should also have a smooth surface because you want a nice flat area to sit and perhaps read, or observe the rest of the garden. Fit Outdoor tiles such as the beige limestone porcelain tiles are soft, and versatile. The porcelain color goes great with various seating, such as brown rattan chairs, linen and wooden reading chair as well as the classic foldable chair. The smooth surface also gives you the opportunity to fit a water feature so you may want to consider this before laying down the tile. The water won’t be at an angle and can be the centerpiece of your patio.

Gardens should be part of our everyday lifestyle. Hang a hammock, fit a water feature, create split levels and see how often you find yourself sitting outside.
