The other day I was looking at vogue bags and suddenly wanted to rush out and buy myself a new one. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked what I found. This year’s selection of handbags is an eclectic one that includes plenty of statement bags that I could see myself enjoying for several seasons.
Monogram bag
It is good to see a nice selection of logo or monogram bags appearing on the catwalks again, this year. Some of these iconic logos are date back as far as the 30s. Yet they still look as special and classy as they did when they were first released.
Classic totes
Totes have a timeless quality. A season very rarely passes without at least being included in a few designers’ collections.
This year’s, versions are mostly made from smooth leather. Their crisp, clean lines make them perfect for work. But, somehow they do not look out of place when worn with more casual attire.
When buying one, just be sure to check the width of the bag. Some of this year’s versions are quite narrow. They look great, but may not be practical for everyone. You need to be sure you can fit everything you need into your bag. I for one need a bottomless handbag, so I find totes almost impossible to resist.
A stylish flip bag
For day to day use you cannot beat a flip bag. They look stylish and stand up to day to day wear and tear very well. The flap creates two layers, which helps to maintain the bags structure even after heavy use.
If you invest in a good one, you can potentially use this bag for several seasons. This year’s flip bags mostly come with chain straps, which is good news. These relatively dainty straps mean that if you want to you can use your flip bag in the evening for a special meal out.
A flap shoulder bag
If you are not keen on the flip bag look go for the flap style instead. There are some lovely ones available in the shops this year.
Pail and bucket bags
For shopping, a pail or bucket bag can be a good investment. The wide top makes it easy to load your goods into it. They look spectacular, but are not the most practical style of bag, so bear this in mind if you are tempted to buy one.
Top handle bags
If you are not keen on shoulder straps, this is when you should go shopping for your next bag. I have never seen so many top handle bags in the shops. So, it should be easy for you to find one that you like.
Warming brown shades
It has been a while but finally brown and tan handbags are back in fashion. The chocolate brown ones are especially nice, but you should only buy one if it is going to fit in with the colours you already have in your wardrobe. This article will help you to make a good choice.
