Planning a sleepover for your teenager can be a bit of a challenge. There’s a lot of pressure to get it absolutely perfect, and your child might have some wild expectations that you simply can’t fulfil.
Thankfully, as a the mother of a teen, I think I’ve got the hang of it and I’m ready to share my wisdom
Plan Sleepover Your Teens Will Love

The key to hosting a fun teen sleepover is to kick everything off by having a clear idea of how much you can afford to spend. Teenagers tend to think your bank account is a never ending fountain of money, and get peeved when their expectations aren’t quite what reality can offer.
The beauty of hosting a teen sleepover is that is can cost as much or as little as you want really. Teenagers don’t tend to need much adult input when it comes to entertainment. If you wanted a very low budget sleepover you could probably stick them in front of E4 and throw a multipack of crisps in with them and they’d be happy!
If you’re planning something a little special, for maybe a birthday or an end of term celebration, you might want to add some fun extras.
For a very special treat you could follow all of these suggestions, or just pick a few. Either way, these are my best tips for winning brownie points with your teenager when you host a sleepover.
Serve bubble tea

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love bubble tea, but I’ve noticed teenagers are especially keen on it. I don’t blame them – it’s so nice!
Rather than buying bubble tea from a bubble tea shop, why not make your own at home? It’ll work as a fun activity, and they’re not just limited to one cup if they’ve got the means to make their own.
You can buy everything you need from an online bubble tea supplier. Perfect!
Turn it into a pizza party!

Give yourself a night off from cooking by making the sleepover a pizza party!
Of course, ordering takeaway is an obvious option, but encouraging the kids to make their own pizza is tonnes of fun and friendlier on the wallet. If you’re dealing with sensible teenagers, the only effort you’ll have to make it turning on the oven and timing the pizza. Everything else can be done by them!
Create a cinema experience

If you’ve got access to a large, plain wall then make your home into a cinema! You can hook up a cheap projector to a TV or laptop to create a big screen. It’s a great way to watch a film!
Get the snacks in

If motherhood has taught me anything, it’s that kids are never full. This is especially true of teenagers. Teenagers are just adult-sized children who are still growing – of course they’re hungry!
Stock up on a load of tasty snacks to get their bellies topped up over the course of the evening. A midnight snack is bound to be on the cards, so make sure they’re well stocked up so you can sleep peacefully.
