When you realize that your kids are finishing school for a while, it can send parents into a frenzied state. How do you keep them entertained for so long? What do you entertain them with without driving yourself crazy? Here’s how to keep your kids entertained when they’re on vacation.

Do Something For The Whole Family
Trying to find an activity for the whole family to do can be hard to find, but it’s worth the search so that you can create some memories together. One example could be Kidzania, which has interactive learning activities for kids & family. It’s a whole city set-up for kids in mind to show them what a firefighter or doctor does, amongst many other professions that they may be curious about. It gives them the opportunity to test their skills and to discover something that they might want to end up doing in the future. There’s also plenty of activities for the adults to get involved with too, so it’s something for the whole family.
Visit A Local Zoo Or Aquarium
With so much wildlife out in the world, there are so many animals to discover, and this can be a great opportunity to educate your children about what is out there currently. It’s certainly something that should be encouraged more now because we’re seeing a lot of animals becoming endangered or on the verge of becoming extinct. This is yours and your children’s chance to get up close and personal with some local wildlife, by taking them to a zoo or aquarium nearby. It can make for a great day out, and if you’re a fan of photography, then you’ll certainly get lots of photos to capture these memories while you’re there.
Have An Arts & Crafts Afternoon
It’s good to encourage creativity in your children because it can help with many things in life as they grow up. It questions them to think outside the box, to be bold and confident and to have passion. Instead of going out, you can always stay in, lay down some newspaper and have an arts and crafts afternoon. Whether it’s painting with watercolour or drawing with charcoal, give them different materials to use. Be sure to get involved yourself so that you can inspire them. When you’re done, pin them up on the wall so that you can all marvel at your creations.
Go For A Picnic In The Park
Getting out into the outdoors is good for the health, and it can take your children and you away from any electronic devices. Make it a ‘no phones, tablets or video game devices’ occasion where you spend time talking to one another. Go to a nearby park and unpack a delicious hamper of treats that you can all enjoy. Make a full day of it and remember to bring some outdoor games to play if anyone gets bored.
Keeping your kids entertained is always going to be tough to do all the time. However, giving them these opportunities to make memories and learn is the best thing you can do as a parent. It helps them grow!
