How To Give Your Wardrobe A Much-Needed Refresh

Do you ever open your wardrobe doors and just think, urgh! It’s so easy to get tired of what you have, that you often know that you’re going to end up repeating the same outfits this week because there’s no other option. When you get to this point, it’s safe to say that your wardrobe is going to need an intervention! You don’t deserve to have a bad selection of clothes… life is too short! When you know that you’ve got limited options, then it’s time to do something about it. But before you’re tempted to go on an online shopping spree, we need to get to the root of the problem. And here’s how you’re going to do it…

  1. Have A Clear Out

Step one – you have to clear out the things that you just don’t wear. And we all have them. Those pieces that we’ve either had for years or are even brand new but we just don’t ever wear. And we don’t wear them because we don’t like them! And it’s just not practical to hold on to these pieces in case you may miraculously change your mind. Deep down, you know that you won’t. Because you would have worn them already. So clear them out and put them in a charity donation bin. Or sell them to gain some money back for when it comes to purchasing new pieces.

  1. Have A Try On

Hopefully, you’ve taken out a huge chunk of the selection. But if you haven’t, then things are about to get real. Your next step is to have a huge try on of what’s left. And be brutal. Anything that just doesn’t fit (whether it’s too big or too small) has got to go – because you know you’ll never wear it. Then, anything that you just don’t like should go too. Trying on is the most effective way to have a cull.

  1. Inject Some Color

So now, you need to start filling the wardrobe back up. And don’t rush, because this can take months, even years, to do. But it’s okay, because you’ve been wearing the same outfits on repeat lately anyway! The first thing to do here is to bring in some color. When you incorporate color into your wardrobe, you’ll always have a lot more fun with it.

  1. Inject Some Comfort

From here, you’re then going to want to think about bringing some comfort into your wardrobe. It’s okay to want to wear fun stuff, but it’s its not practical, it will just stay hung up in your wardrobe. So instead, go for things that you want to wear. From cashmere jumpers and felt slippers to flexible workout wear and comfortable shoes, the investment will be worth it. Because when you’re comfortable, you’ll look much better in what you’re wearing.

  1. Build Up From Your Basics

Finally, you’re then going to want to build up a series of outfits. Start with your basics, like jeans, simple dresses, t-shirts, and jackets, and go from there. With a basic wardrobe, you will find that you can look and feel good at the same time, and that everything just works together.
