Accidental Hipster Mum

Greg’s Fantasy Bedroom

By accidentalhipstermum 8 Comments

Since I’ve moved into this gorgeous new house, I’ve noticed all my old stuff is looking a bit tired. I don’t know if it’s the move or if it’s the fact I just turned 30, but I’m thinking a lot about interiors these days. One room I’m keen to update is my toddler’s bedroom.

Being the second-born, his furniture is secondhand. I’m looking forward to the day he can have a brand new big boy bed, I’ve had my eye one this super snazzy racing car one for a week or so. Greg would go completely wild if this materialised in his room one day!

But alas, hes not quite ready for a bed. This was proven during his hospital stay last month when they provided him with a bed and all he wanted to do was dive out head first. I can’t even begin to imagine what he’s be doing when I’m not there to supervise. My best guess is not sleeping!

Next on my “NEED IT NOW!” list is a monochrome Teepee. It’s so cute I can’t bear to look at it without buying it. Greg is a big fan of tents too, so I know he would adore this as much as I do.

Moving on from the bedroom, I would love to be able to give him a separate playroom. I already know how I would decorate it – Greg loves giraffes. I think I would definitely have to have this rug and storage cabinet combo.

While I’m considering other rooms, I’ve been in the market for a small table and chair set for downstairs. I’m eager to get my little boy drawing with those chunky crayons now he’s two so I’ll definitely need one. I also figured that when he graduates from a highchair, he can eat his dinner at his own little man table. This pirate set looks all kinds of fun to learn to draw on  (and eat your dinner off).

Last of all (and fitting in with the theme of nothing else in this fantasy list) I just have to have this storage bench. If I have nowhere to put it and nothing to match it with, I’ll just have to decorate a room around it. Just look at it, it’s too cute!

Do you have a fantasy furniture list? Is it because I’m 30 now and recognised everywhere as a card carrying grown-up? As always, answers in the box below!

I too have a fantasy wishlist for Chase’s bedroom! I’ve actually got a few different theme ideas, and recently started a conversation with my husband about redecorating his room just so that I could have fun with one of the themes! I love the art deco look with the teepee though! #KCACOLS

I’m terrible for not being able to decide on a theme! I think that’s why I’ve not done anything yet. I have bought three interiors magazines though, so that’s a start! x

I love the tee pee, I do want to get one for my kids. We’ll be moving back to the UK to our house and I have promised the kids we’ll decorate their rooms, this has given me a few ideas, thanks! #KCACOLS

Brilliant! I’m in love with tee pees, I fear that within minutes of putting it up it will be full of toys and covered in chocolate!

I love the teepee! I have a fantasy list for my daughter’s room. She is 10 so we are looking to make it into a more sophisticated space but one where she can still play. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday

Love your ideas. When we moved in our house, I was so eager to create a playroom for little miss. She used it for such a short space of time and then became a toy storage room. Its now been gutted and made into the babys room (Due May). ever evolving 🙂 #KCACOLS
