Spring is my favourite time to be in the garden, whether it is enjoying some rays of sunshine, playing with the little ones, or enjoying some tea while I read my favourite book – Spring is simply the best… Flowers are blooming, the days are longer, Spring is fabulous. If you Spring and spending time in the garden as much as I do or if you feel like you’ve been neglecting your garden and want to give it some love, I’ve put together some ways to give your garden an uplift and get it ready for this lovely upcoming season.
Declutter and organise.

Homebase recommends start with a general clear up. Remove any leaves, debris and weeds that might have taken over the garden. Then, head over to your garden shed and turn it upside down – declutter and give it a good clean.
Make your garden standout.
Dreaming of adding something special to your garden? Wishing you could use it all-year-round no matter the weather? Retractable roof pergolas by Designer Shade Solutions will give you all of that and much more. These modern pergolas feature a retractable and tilting louvered roof that can easily open and close, plus can also simply tilt to offer shade. These can be installed in the middle of your garden as a stunning centrepiece or attached to your home to extend your current living space.

As Dear Bear and Beany mentions in this blog post, “modern pergolas can be used to define certain areas of your garden, including a garden dining area. These can be customised to meet your requirements and can be combined with side glass screens, heating and lighting to create the ultimate outdoor retreat.” Modern pergolas will be the perfect addition to your garden!
Welcome wildlife

Something I love to do with the kids is sit down and watch all the wildlife that visits our garden. From foxes to birds and even a couple of deer once. It’s fascinating seeing them and learning about different species. So, why not give them a helping hand and leave some bird food around, maybe make a pond, so they have water to drink. Renovation Bay Bee highlights the importance of providing these furry, scaly, feathery, prickly, or fluffy visitors with the basics to survive during the cold days.
Give it colour.
Make your whole outdoor area feel brand-new again with a quick coat of paint. Fizzy Peaches recommends painting your garden shed, garden fence and for a little bit more colour plant some colourful plants and veggies.
