Having fun outdoors has been pretty sanity-saving during the past few months. Fresh air tires kids out way better than anything else could and besides, fun in the sun is good for the soul. That’s why I do all I can to encourage outdoor play.
We were very lucky to receive some outdoor toys from Funrise to add to our collection – Gazillion Bubbles- Bubble Storm, a large Caterpillar Steel Dump Truck and large Caterpillar Steel Wheel Loader. They’re all great toys for keeping the middle child busy in the garden. Everyone knows when the bigger kids play, the baby loves to watch, so we’ve been having some chilled out days!
Gazillion Bubbles – Bubble Storm
Kids love bubbles. They chase them, they pop them, they dance in them. They go mad for them! Greg is no exception and even his big sister enjoyed running through the bubble storm.
The Gazillion Bubbles- Bubble Storm is a cool bit of kit. It comes with bubble mixture and you just need to insert some batteries and assemble it. Then it has a huge bubble output that whirls out into the garden and up into the sky.

Caterpillar CAT Steel Wheel Loader
This dump truck is huge and impressive-looking. If you have a child who loves construction toys, you’re probably already familiar with the Caterpillar brand.
We have a fair few smaller Caterpillar construction toys but these big ones went down a treat! Greg was very impressed with the size and couldn’t wait to get playing!
He loves racing around the garden with this dump truck. He also likes to collect twigs, daisies and stones to load up the truck. It’s a great toy and would make a lovely gift for someone of a similar age.

Caterpillar Steel Wheel Loader
This is another large garden toy. It’s an impressive size and really gives that wow factor when your child sees it (or it impressed Greg anyway). It’s fab for general outdoor and has been very popular in the sand pit.
These large construction toys are fantastic for getting the kids interested in playing outside. Greg has wanted to play outside with them every day since we got them. He’s also taken to eating his meals outside then continuing to play!
These toys have been a hit. They’ve encouraged more outdoor play, which is preferable to me as a parent because Greg plays on his own with these bits and it gives me a little bit of a reprieve after spending lots of weeks indoors with a newborn and nowhere to go.
