I’ve not shared any makeup looks for a couple of months because it’s honestly been too hot for me to think about anything! With that in mind, I bring you an easy summer make up look that only takes 20 minutes to apply!
What you’ll need to create an easy summer makeup look in 20 minutes
Justmylook very kindly supplied the makeup I needed to create this look, but I got to choose exactly what I needed. I wanted to reflect the summer weather by using warm tones, but I also wanted it to be super easy to achieve (because all my make up application during the summer is done with a lively toddler beside me, so accuracy is definitely not achievable!)
These are the products I went for:

- Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette
- Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette
- Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer
- theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick in shade Affectionate
This is the look I created with this kit, I used my own eyeliner and mascara, but if you’re feeling extra fancy you could add some false eyelashes to create a bit of a wow factor! I recommend Ardell Demi Wispies, and if you get them in a multipack of 4, they work out to be quite cheap!

Step One: warm smokey eye with Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette
Before I start, I just want you all to quickly swoon over how beautiful this palette is.

I naturally have pretty dark eyelids, so I went for something just a little darker than my natural lid colour as a base, followed by a much darker colour in the crease. Blending is essential, blend, then blend some more, before adding a light colour under the brow and in the nasal corners of your eyes.

Colours used (and step-by-step):
- Faith over lid as a base
- Extra Bitter in crease (and above crease to try and make my lids look a bit bigger
- Blend!
- Pre-Game under brows
- Blow in the nasal corners of my eyes
- Blend some more!
- Eyeliner and mascara needed
- Draw on your eyebrows to finish the look

Step Two: Foundation
I always do my foundation second because it makes it easier to correct mistakes. I used a collagen base and a serum foundation from The Ordinary. I put concealer under my eyes to hide the bags, at the sides of my nose to hide the redness, and above my eyebrows to neaten any smudges.
In this hot weather you need something to keep your makeup from sweating off, and I recommend Ben Nye Final Seal spray to fix it, then a light dusting of fixing powder if you’re still a little shiny.
Step Three: Highlight and Contour

I use the light matte highlight in the top left corner under my eyes, on my chin and down my nose, then I use the yellow toned highlighter above my eyebrows. To contour I use one of the dark shades under my cheekbones and along my jawline to slim my face. For an extra dash of glam, I use the shiny highlighter in the top right corner on top of my cheekbones and a very thin line that follows the bottom of my eyebrow to brighten my eyes. See below:

Step four: Lippie
I used theBalm liquid lipstick in shade Affectionate to create a subtle clash with the warmer tones I’ve used on my face. It stays on really well and when you apply it, it smells on mint choc chip ice cream – yum!
Et voila! An easy summer makeup look in just 20 minutes.
Here’s the look in natural light. it looks pretty glam, but took barely any time at all!
