As the mother of beautiful tween with a keen interest in fashion, I try to make sure she gets one amazing dress each year. This year, David Charles Childrenswear very kindly provided us with an amazing dress to review from their Spring/Summer collection.

The dress we chose was a royal blue floral party gown, with a sheer polka dot frilled neckline, flared skirt and concealed zip.
As with all amazing dresses, the first thing we did was test how impressive it looked when Emma twirled in it…

We obviously had to give it 10/10 because it was a perfect twirling dress!
Our Thoughts on Our David Charles Party Dress
We picked the dress because of it’s classy pattern and vivid colours. Emma wanted something bright and cheerful, and I wanted her to go for something that would be suitable for weddings and christenings, but wouldn’t look out of place at a garden party or even a family gathering.

The wonderful thing about this particular dress is that although the bright pink blooms on the fabric scream spring/summer, paired with the right shrug and tights, the deep tones of the blue make it easy to transform into a beautiful autumn/winter wedding outfit too. You’ll really get your money’s worth with a frock like this.
It’s easy to see from just looking at the dress that the fabric and stitching are of an extremely high standard. The fabric itself is thick and luxurious, with a satin finish. The stitching is absolutely flawless to the point of almost being invisible, I think the concealed zip also adds to the high-end look of the dress.

Emma found the dress comfortable to wear and felt especially glamorous while she had it on. I think she’d probably wear it every day if I let her (which I wouldn’t because it needs to be dry cleaned or go through a cool hand wash!)
She loved the way the skirt flares, even when she was standing still, which made her feel elegant and very grown up.

We’re really happy with Emma’s dress and would look at purchasing another in the future if it’s a year with lots of special occasions. As with all high-end clothing, the price tag is a little high – £249 for this particular style (right at the top of our price range), but the quality is evident at first glance and it’s what I’d expect to pay for something so beautiful.
It truly is an amazing dress and we absolutely love it!
