Cetaphil Skincare Review – A Gentle Routine for Sensitive Skin

ad

As someone who suffers from dry and sensitive skin, Cetaphil had been on my radar a little while. I’d seen conversations in the beauty groups I’m in, and a few posts on Instagram too. I was eager to get hold of some to try, as I have sensitive skin that can flare up really easily.

When I was offered the chance to review some of the range, I decided to go for the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, the Cetaphil Rich Night Cream and the Cetaphil Daily Hydrating Moisturiser. These seemed best-suited to my skin type and I was keen to give them a go.

Products I'm trying from the Cetaphil Range

I’m a sucker for a simple skincare routine, so these products really spoke to me. I often start a ten-step routine, believing this time will be different, only to sack it off by day five. Cleansing and moisturising is all I really have time for (anything else is a bonus), so I was glad to start a routine I could keep on top of.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Review

me using Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. review post

The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a really great cleanser. I’m a fan of the double cleanse, so to be able to use the cleanser to remove makeup, then as a facial wash too is s huge bonus. It makes the product great value for money as it’s a 2-in-1 kind of a deal.

I used reusable makeup pads and a microfibre face cloth. For the first cleanse where I remove my makeup, I squirt some cleanser onto the reusable pads and wipe it across my face.

For cleanse two, I apply the cleanser directly to my face, rub it in, then wash it off with water. I also use a microfibre cloth for a deeper clean. I made a little YouTube Short of my night time routine, you can watch it below.

The cleanser is noncomedogenic, which means it doesn’t clog your pores. I don’t need to tell you why this is good news, but I will say I’m really pleased about it. The cleanser also doesn’t contain soap, which some cleansers than claim to be gentle still use as an ingredient. If you’ve got sensitive skin, you really don’t want to be using soap, and its not always good for non-sensitive skin either!

Cetaphil Rich Night Cream Review

Cetaphil Rich Night Cream Review

The Cetaphil Rich Night Cream was my favourite of the two moisturisers I tried. I normally prefer a thicker formula, and this is a lovely creamy consistency. It goes on smoothly, sinks in well and is designed for sensitive skin. It was really kind to my dry patches and left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated.

Cetaphil Daily Hydrating Moisturiser Review

Cetaphil Daily Hydrating Moisturiser review

The Daily Hydrating Moisturiser is a very light formula that sinks in almost instantly. I prefer a thicker moisturiser because I have very dry skin, but that’s more of a personal preference than anything else. This moisturiser goes on well under makeup and contains the hydrating ingredient hyaluronic acid, which helps keep things nice and dewy.

Overall Impressions of Cetaphil

I’ve really loved using Cetaphil products and I’m a real convert. I’m particularly enamoured with the Gentle Cleanser because it’s pretty versatile. It goes on nicely, doesn’t cause my skin to flare up and saves me using a second product when I’m double cleansing.

Cetaphil products are available from Boots (affiliate) and Amazon (affiliate) as well as lots of other stockists.
