Optical eyeglasses trends change, much like clothing trends. The difference is, you probably buy clothes more often than you update your specs, so keeping on top of trends in eyewear might not be very high up on your priorities.

Finding Somewhere to Buy Specs Online
There are lots of places that sell glasses online, it can be difficult to choose who to go with. There are certain regulations that are required for making and selling glasses, so these online shops will all have to adhere to them.
With that in mind, it’s best to buy from somewhere that sells the styles you like for the price you want. Spectacles can range from very cheap to very expensive, so you might want to have a budget in mind before you buy.

Think about shapes
When it comes to buying eyeglasses, different styles tend to suit different people. If you love the specs your friend is wearing, they might look great on her and not so good on you.
If you’ve worn glasses before, you might have a lens shape in mind. It can be good to stick to what you know, but it can also be fun to step out of your comfort zone.
Some people will tell you that people with round faces should stay away from round glasses, and the same of square faces and square spectacle frames, but that’s not necessarily true.
As long as the frames fit you well, they will probably look good.
Before you start searching, find out your PD from wherever your site test was done. You’ll need this measurement later.
If you wear glasses, take note of the size of the frame. If they fit you well, you can use those specs as a size guide. The last thing you want is ending up with a hugely too big pair of glasses on a tiny face.
Round & Oval Specs
Round and oval prescription glasses are bang on trend. These were last the height of fashion in the late 90s. As with all trends, spectacle trends go in cycles too. While everything 90s and Y2K is back on the clothing scene, the eyewear of that time is a must-have too.
Square & Oblong Glasses Frames
These angular shapes are very dependable. There’s an iteration of these for every trend and they’ll be around forever. Ten years ago, big, black, plastic square specs were in. Now they’re not as bold but still as trendy,
Plastic oblong frames are still doing the rounds, and metal frames are on the edge of resurgence.
Oblong frames also make for cool sunglasses, so make sure you order some to protect your eyes from those UV rays!
Fun Shapes
Hexagonal, heart shape, or floating lens designs are always the mark of the fashion forward. Theses specs are never really on or off trend, they’re styles for those that don’t bother to follow trends at all. Fun shapes, styles and colours will always have their place in the optics world and these are my favourite style to buy when it’s time for a new pair.
