3 Signs Your Child is Being Bullied

3 Signs Your Child is Being Bullied

It is not unusual for children who are being bullied to remain silent, but there are often lots of clues that parents should look out for. If you are worried that your son or daughter might be getting bullied, you will likely find an anti-bullying policy on their website. A change in your child’s demeanour could be a sign that something is going on, but Mount House School also suggest that parents should look out for the following three signs.

1.     Reluctance to Attend School

It’s perfectly normal for kids to dread school after the long summer holidays. It’s not normal, however, for them to start dreading school out of the blue. If your child has gone from being their usual happy self to having constant tummy aches and showing unwillingness to go to school, it could be because there’s a bigger problem at play.

2.     Strange Sleep Patterns

If your child is worried and anxious, they might not be able to sleep at night or they might keep waking up constantly. They might also start having nightmares. Keep an eye on their sleeping patterns, as it could be a sign that they’re struggling with something at home.

3.     Change in Friends

Has your child suddenly started hanging around with a different group of friends? Perhaps they’ve started complaining about eating lunch alone. A shift in friends, or no friends at all, is a sign that the bullies are trying to isolate your child.
