Cold days and big heating bills don’t mix. No wonder you’re looking for ways to make your bed extra cosy. There’s nothing worse than settling down for the night only to realise your bed is cold and lumpy!
You won’t be getting much sleep in a bed that isn’t comfy and cosy – especially in these colder months!
That’s why you need this guide to making your bed extra cosy. You don’t need to spend a fortune to create a cosy haven in your bedroom. These few steps will help you get ready for a gorgeous night’s sleep.
Simba Hybrid Mattress Topper

Getting the Simba hybrid mattress topper is a great way to revamp your bed and make it extra cosy. The best thing about it (aside from feeling lovely to lay on) is that it doesn’t make you easily overheat like many other toppers can. It has an innovative design that can keep you cooler while you sleep.

It’s more advanced than traditional memory foam, and I love mine so much.
When it arrived it’s squashed down and vacuum packed, so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t look big enough for your bed. Mine soon plumped up and was just the right size.
I can confirm it was very comfy to sleep on and kept me at the perfect temperature.
Fresh Bedding
Fresh bedding is honestly a must if you’re hoping for maximum cosiness and comfort. This doesn’t mean you need to get some brand new bedding (although that is always a lovely treat) but make sure you’re changing your bedding really regularly. Climbing into a bed made with fresh bedding is one of the best feelings in the world.
Simba Hybrid Duvet

It’s all well and good bundling yourself up for bedtime, but if you wake in the night dripping in sweat, you’re really not going to be cosy. That’s where this amazing Simba hybrid duvet comes in. It’s suitable for year round use meaning you’re just as much the right temperature in a snow storm as you are in a heatwave. No overheating for you (but also no underheating either).
The duvet has a fresh, non-clammy feel thanks to the Stratos temperature control tech. This has to be the most scientifically advanced duvet I’ve ever seen. Based on the technology used by astronauts, this duvet helps dissipate heat and keep you the exact right temperature all year round.
Heated Blanket
For nights that are just too cold, think about getting a heated blanket. It’s thought that it’s cheaper to use a heated blanket than it is to heat the whole room. So if you’re wanting to watch the pennies, considered heating the person not the space.
I’d suggest you do your own research on price as I can’t imagine all heated blankets are created equal.
Extra Blankets
One way to ramp up the cosiness is to pile on the blankets. Extra fluffy, snuggly blankets will help create a cute and cosy atmosphere and warm you nicely at night.
Invite a Pet

Not everyone’s cup of tea, but it you’ve got a furry friend, why not pinch some body heat? From what I can tell, it’s about 50/50 in the pet parent world as to whether you four-legged family member is allowed to sleep on the bed or not. But if you share your bed anyway, it’s worth huddling together for heat.
Hot Water Bottle
Adding a hot water bottle to your night time routine is an age-old solution to a beautiful bedtime. When I was little, my nan swore by warming the bed with a hot water bottle then hugging one as you go to sleep. It’s the ultimate way to increase cosiness without having to pay lots to crank up the heating.
Will you be using any of these tips? Which one is your favourite?
