Look Forward To Some Of The Fun Parts Of Pregnancy

Are you preparing for your first pregnancy? If so, then you might be nervous about the months ahead and that’s understandable. After all, if you research what to expect when you’re expecting online then you’ll find warnings about morning sickness, spotting and brackston hicks contractions. That last one is a fun little jolt where it feels like you’re giving birth months before you’re actually due. They can be quite painful and difficult to ignore which is why a lot of mothers end up traveling to hospital to find out what’s going on. However, despite all the troubles, there are plenty of fun aspects of a pregnancy. Here are some of the key examples to keep in mind.

Baby Shower

First, you can look forward to a party that is all for you and your little one. Baby showers are great fun and the perfect way to tick off some of the items that you need during or after your pregnancy. You can make a list of the baby shower gifts that you want or perhaps let people choose what they want to buy you. The choice is entirely up to you. There can also be fun games and a chance to learn what to expect from previous mothers.

Choosing The Name

Another element that you can look forward to is choosing the name. If you’re a single parent this is going to be a little easier because there won’t be someone there to fight over the different choices. If you’re not, then be prepared for a few different vetoes and you might lose one or two of your favs to keep your other half happy. Some parents prefer to wait for the baby to be born which does make sense. After all, it’s possible that the baby will look completely different from the name you pick when you welcome them into the world.

Decorating The Room

Another aspect of pregnancy that you can certainly look forward to is decorating the baby’s room or the nursery. You can start this process a few months before your baby is due. You might think that if you don’t know the sex of the baby then your hands are tied here. However, that’s not the case and it is possible to decorate with neutral choices. You’ll find that plenty of shops provide some great accessories and items that could be perfect for decorating your nursery, regardless of your preferences here.

Feeling The Kicks

There are lots of elements of a pregnancy that can be described as magical. However, we think you’ll agree that the movements of your baby easily makes the top of this list. It will start with something akin to butterflies in your stomach and then develop into you actually seeing the feet or hands press underneath the skin in the bath. While this might sound like something out of a horror movie, we promise it’s absolutely enchanting and an unforgettable moment. Unless of course, the baby decides to stand up – which has happened. If that’s the case, you’ll see a head poking up instead of a hand and this can seem like a scene out of Alien.

Confidence Boost

Remarkable things happen to your body during pregnancy and you might be surprised to learn that they aren’t all negative or unpleasant. You might feel more confident during your pregnancy for a couple of reasons. First, there’s those pesky hormones elevating your mood and potentially even increasing your libido. There’s also real physical changes that occur. Your nails will be healthier, your hair could be thicker and you might even find that you do have a beautiful glow. This is all part of the pregnancy package so enjoy it while it lasts.

Plenty Of Rest

If you’re someone that likes taking a rest every now and then then you will enjoy certain parts of your pregnancy. Rest isn’t just recommended when you are pregnant, it’s a real requirement. Your body will be going through a lot of changes and your hormone levels will constantly be changing. Rest will help ensure that things don’t become all too overwhelming for you. You don’t need to feel guilty about lying in bed for a few hours or lounging on the sofa. Although, you do need to stay active too so it’s a little bit of a balancing act.

We hope this helps you understand that there are a wonderful assortment of fun parts of being pregnant. It’s not all about morning sickness, pain and cramps. There’s plenty to look forward to, even before you welcome your new little gift into the world.
