Affirmation cards for children have recently been a hot topic. As a mother, I know how important it is for children to manage their emotions and if affirmation cards can help, then it’s something I want to try! Luckily, I was very kindly sent some Nipper Cards – affirmation cards for kids, created by the award-winning childcare company Nipperbout.
With years of experience in working with kids, Janthea Brigden – founder of Nipperbout, was inspired to create these inspirational affirmation cards for children. “Sometimes, it can be difficult to understand the reasons behind children’s behaviours and how to best support them. The cards provide a playful way to support this journey of exploration.”

Nipper Cards Review – Affirmation Cards for Children
These lovely affirmation cards for children contain brightly coloured illustrations of animals. Each animal represents a quality, the butterfly (pictured above) represents transformation. For each animal there are four cards, all with different messages on them.
The cards are aimed at children 4+. putting my son in the perfect age bracket, so we had a look at these cards together. We’ve been dipping into the pack, picking a card and talking about the affirmation on the card.
You can also play a number of games with the deck, including animal snap, number snap or animal families. So if you want to introduce the affirmations in another way, playing a game will definitely do the job.
We’ve really enjoyed playing number snap and picking out cards at random to discuss the affirmations. I think it’s really important that children learn to talk about their feelings and emotions from an early age. Learning to manage strong feelings is a key skill that will help your child long into adulthood.
