My son has been a big fan of SuperZings collectables since he got some for his birthday a year or so ago. Ever since then we’ve been buying them as pocket money treats here and there (the blind bags are only 80p a packet) and telling family to buy things from the range for gift ideas.
We were lucky enough to be sent some SuperZings Rivals of Kaboom Playsets for review. I’m sure it’s no surprise that Greg went mad for them. The playsets really help bring the range to life – it already has a great backstory. The SuperZings are split into good guys and bad guys, who are – you guessed it: rivals!
SuperZings are already a fantastic line of toys, kids love collectables and enjoy them even more when there are other accessories to be had. These bigger playsets make great Christmas and birthday presents, especially if the child in question already has a lot of the figures.
Super Zings Rivals of Kaboom Kazoom Lab
The Kazoom Lab is one of the bigger playsets (available from The Entertainer). It contains two SuperZings, Professor K and Enigma, and requires a small amount of setting up.
As someone who is usually hopeless at putting things together, I was delighted to learn that assembly was incredibly easy and I quickly had an impressive-looking lab.
There are extras with the set, including a robot and an ‘Aeronigma’ rocket ship that Superzings can sit inside.
The platform moves up and down, the front of the lab has a drop down door as well as a trap door behind it and there are all sorts of other little levers and buttons to have fun with. There’s plenty of scope for imaginative play.
Professor K’s Robo-K 3000 shoots missiles when you lift his arms and press the buttons. You’d better watch out!
Super Zings Rivals of Kaboom Monster Roller
The SuperZings Rivals of Kaboom Monster Roller is heaps of fun. It picks up and SuperZings it rolls over and keeps them in a chamber in the bottom of the monster truck.
The monster truck itself is chunky and sturdy. The back end rolls up the SuperZings as it drives over them, and the grate at the front opens to let out whoever it’s trapped.
Two SuperZings are included with the monster truck – Doc Whistle and Waltie. They can ride in the top of the truck whilst out collecting villians in the chamber below.

Super Zings Rivals of Kaboom Tower Assault
The tower is one of the smaller playsets available, it’s on sale for around £20 at The Entertainer. This set comes in two parts, the tower and the the ramp with a small car.
Any SuperZing who dares climb the tower can be ejected off the top. A daredevil SuperZing who wants to try the ramp can set it to normal or super-steep to help fly high!

Our Review of SuperZings the Rivals Playsets
We already loved SuperZings before we got this bundle of toys to review. We’ve spend a fair amount of our own money collecting these little figures and love that the range has expanded to new playsets too. Both me and Greg think the playsets are loads of fun, and I think it’s great that they do so much -allowing him to play on his own for ages.
Batteries are not needed, so the toys are good to go from the minute you unbox them, and your fun will never run out! All round a good investments and adding to the collection doesn’t come with a huge price tag. I often get Greg a SuperZings blind bag as a treat for doing the reading set by his school. For 80p. I doubt you could get anything as that’s as much fun!
