Read those reviews
The great thing about shopping online is that there are often reviews available at the touch of a button. It makes it really easy for you to check out the track record of sellers and to look into the product details a little more.
If you have not heard of the retailer, you can check out customer reviews and feedback to enable you to buy with confidence, or to avoid them altogether.
You might need a new washing machine or it might be the latest STEM toys that you are looking to buy, so take the time to look into your options and the products available along with customer reviews. This is a good way to check a product out before buying and you can search for any specific questions about the product that you might want answering.
Check the delivery costs at the outset
It is always worth checking the delivery costs at the outset, so as soon as you land on a website take a look at these. There is usually a ‘delivery’ section in the footer of the site somewhere, if it is not easily apparent from the storefront.
You then need to factor this into the prices that you are looking at. It might be that the product you need is no longer such a bargain once you have added on the delivery costs. You might find that it is worth buying a bundle of things all in one place to save on delivery, but do only go for this option if you were genuinely going to buy those items anyway, otherwise you might be running up a big bill just to avoid a small postage fee.
Use a cashback website whenever possible
If you are spending your time shopping online, it makes sense to register with a cashback website first. This is normally very quick and easy to do, and you will then be able to make savings when you shop.
There are several cashback websites available, and they work by giving you a little extra back on any purchases that you make. Most of them have a lot of big name retailers registered with them so you should find that you can make savings just by going about your normal business and shopping.
Take a few extra minutes to search out discounts
Before you check out with your shopping, it is worth taking an extra few minutes to search out discount codes.
Many websites do actually have a box at the checkout asking for promotional or discount codes, so use these as a handy reminder to yourself to go and take a quick look before you enter your payment card details.
Whether you are buying office chair mats, books for the kids, gifts for others or a large appliance, every saving counts and a quick search should instantly throw out any current and valid discount codes running.
In some cases you might find that the retailer offers you a discount themselves so look out for codes and offers popping up, or the chance to save by signing up to their mailing list.
