If you notice your teenager is creative, that’s something you’ll want to nurture. You might not be sure how to do that, though.

Let Them Go to a School that Encourages Them
Where you send your child to middle school and high school can make a huge difference. Some of the Sandy Utah high schools you might find will encourage creativity more than others.
Find a middle school and high school emphasizing music, art, and other forms of creative expression. Your teen will likely find those to be just as stimulating as the traditional math, science, and language classes that compose a conventional curriculum.
Let Them Take Lessons
Figure out what your teen likes to do. Their creativity will probably take a particular form. Then, find some classes they can take.
Giving them music classes can reveal a certain instrument that they like. You might also let them take sculpture, painting, or drawing-from-life classes. Any of those are great creative outlets, and your child should be happy if you let them do these things.
Let Them Dress Creatively
You can also let your teen express themselves creatively through their dress. You don’t want them to wear anything too provocative, but other than that, there’s no limit to how they might reveal their personality through apparel.
You might take them to Goodwill, where they can find some vintage clothing. They may also express themselves through an unusual hairstyle, lipstick color, etc.
Let Them Decorate Their Room
You can let your teen decorate their room if they want to express themselves through visual elements. You can let them choose a paint color or go with some colorful wallpaper. You might also let them put up posters, glowing stars on the ceiling, or anything else they feel will best reveal their innermost thoughts and feelings.
Accept Them for Who They Are
Your teen might also tell you about their creative interests. Whatever those are, accept them as long as they are healthy and productive.
If your child wants to sing, dance, make art, or whatever else, support them and tell them you’ll facilitate their growth in their chosen medium. They will be able to become the best version of themselves that way.
Prop Them Up When They Fail
If your child wants to be creative, that might manifest itself in crafting art they want to enter into competitions. They might want to compete for a prominent spot in their school’s marching band.
If they don’t succeed in getting to where they want to be,tell them you’re proud of them anyway. They will appreciate the unconditional support.
Share What You Love
Play music for your creative teen that you like, and show them art you love. Letting them see that you’re passionate about things will let them know they can feel the same way.
