Elvi plus size clothing knows how to make women of all shapes feel comfortable and glamorous. I’m surprised it’s taken me so long to find this inclusive clothing brand, I’ve long been searching for clothes that look stylish but are also well-made.
The huge market for fast fashion, and the perceived lack (by many brands) of demand for plus size clothing for young and fashion-conscious women makes it difficult to find high quality plus size clothing that is beautiful. As my size has crept up in recent months, the quest has been even harder.
When I discovered Elvi, I was delighted. I was even more pleased when they offered me a piece from their collection to show off on the blog. The brand is less of a plus-size company and more of an inclusive brand, with sizes ranging from UK 8 – UK 28, you’re bound to find what you want in you size.
As a yo-yo dieter this really appeals to me, I ping between a size 12 and 22 (although I’ve not been below a 16 in the past 3 years) and I find it exhausting trying to find clothes when I either lose or gain a large amount of weight. With Elvi catering for such a broad range of sizes I know that I can rely on them whenever I need some new clothes.
What I wore
I was gifted the ‘Corinth’ self belt midi skirt in linen mix print featured in the photo above. I’m 5’9 and the skirt finishes mid-ankle. I didn’t size up because in my experience, linen stretches. The linen that this skirt is made of is really good quality and hasn’t stretched but the waist is elasticated so there is naturally a little give.
I would say that the sizing is accurate and there’s no need to size up for this range (which is always reassuring). The linen is really thick which is a sign of high quality, and has kept me cool during these bursts of heat we’ve had.
The Elvi premium range has got it so right. They’ve paired timeless prints and colour palettes with cooling but trendsetting silhouettes. Nothing is bland, and none of the styles look like they’re been made as an afterthought (which some plus size ranges are guilty of).
I believe Elvi understand that women come in all different shapes and sizes and have created a range of clothes that look good on anyone, which can be challenging. I feel like they value women’s uniqueness and respect that individuality comes in all different packages, which is the reason they cater for women’s fashion in such an inclusive way.
