Minimalism seems to be huge right now, which means everyone is racing to de-clutter their homes, update fixtures and fitting and improve on storage. While some homes may need adaptations for mobility reasons, lots of people modify their homes to give them more of a modern feel.

Put up shelves in your kitchen if their isn’t enough space for more cupboards or a storage unit. You can use kitchen shelving for both displaying you gadgets (like your cake mixer and your scales) while freeing up cupboard to store your less fancy-looking essentials (like gravy granules and tins of beans.)
Bedroom shelving can also be dual purpose, we use the shelves in our son’s room to display his soft toys. That way he can see them, but they’re not cluttering up the place. I’d like some shelves in my own bedroom to display perfume bottles.
Add a residential lift
If you’re adapting your home because you live with someone who has mobility issues, it might be worth looking into getting a lift installed in a cupboard, instead of wasting valuable space on other alternatives for tackling stairs. Swap your bath for a shower
If your bathroom is small and lengthy bubble baths don’t tickle your fancy, why not swap out your bath for a modern shower cubicle? A hot shower is a refreshing way to start the day, and the extra room to manoeuvre can only be a good thing.
A wall-mounted towel rail will also save floor space as well as add a modern edge to your bathroom, and a fixed unit with an in-built sink will give you somewhere to store your toiletries.
