Protect Future Generations With a Healthy Lifestyle

What if you could improve your life quality and reduce yoru impact on the environment today? It would make you and your family better off and create a more sustainable lifestyle for your children. This article gives you 5 lifestyle areas that you can target to live a planet-conscious life.

Zero Waste

One of the most pressing issues on the planet today is the problem of plastic in the environment. Plastic is cheap to produce and use for mass-produced products, but it is also extremely resilient and takes hundreds of years to decompose, less when it’s in the ocean.

There is no single solution to the problem of environmental plastic; like most environmental efforts, it requires a multi-faceted approach. Along with environmental plastic clean-up operations, we also need to adapt our lifestyles with a zero-waste approach in the local area.

Meat-Free Diet

One of the best things you can do for the planet at the moment is to adopt a meat-free diet. A meat-based diet generates 7.2 kg of carbon dioxide every day, compared to the 2.9 kg of a meat-free alternative. A meat-based diet requires cattle and also clears huge areas of forest.

In the future, lab meat might become a viable alternative to conventional meat from animals, but the technology has yet to be perfected and rolled out to the masses. While lab-grown meat is better, it is probably not a silver bullet either, so a vegan or vegetarian alternative is much better.

Public Transport

Transport is one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions in the atmosphere, with most households keeping at least one private vehicle. However, more people are seeing the wisdom in switching to a private electrical vehicle to reduce their carbon footprint or public transport.

For every mile driven in a private vehicle, one pound of Co2 is produced, and it’s estimated that using public transport can reduce carbon emissions by around 45%. Not only does this help to contribute to Net Zero efforts, but it creates a cleaner local environment for people to live in.

Carbon Footprint

Living a modern life on the planet produces carbon dioxide that enters the atmosphere, where it gets trapped, warming the planet through the greenhouse effect. Every time you switch on the washing machine, the heating, the kettle, or use the car, you are generating more of this carbon.

There’s good news; it’s easy to measure your carbon footprint and use employee rewards

to turn healthy habits into a force for good. Start by using a carbon footprint calculator, to find out where you sit and what simple changes you can make today. Carbon offsets also help.

Meditation

If you want to improve your life quality, start a meditation habit. Meditation is excellent for harmonizing your body and mind making you feel more together and happier. At the same time, your meditation habit is excellent for the people around you and the world because you influence their wellbeing too. Use a combination of meditation and mindfulness for best results.
