The Best Homemade Snacks for Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner, and as many families prepare for the Halloween spirit by finding costumes to buy, another huge aspect to look forward to is the variety of candies. From trick or treating with the kids to Halloween parties at home, there’s no way you can have Halloween without candy.

Even though there’s a lot of candy that tastes amazing, they can hurt your pockets, considering how much candy you have to buy for trick or treating and parties and things such as decorations, costumes, etc.

So, instead of burning money on tons of candy, here are some ideas for easy and tasty snacks that you can make for anyone to enjoy for Halloween this year.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

One of the easier candies to make are peanut butter cups. Most candy lovers can tell by the description that this is a homemade version of the Reese’s peanut butter cups, and they are absolutely correct.

In most candy bowls for Halloween, you can always spot the fun-sized Reese’s cups in there, and they usually don’t stay in there long. Everyone loves Reese’s, so why not try your own version of them?

Mini Smores

Smores are another cool and delicious snack that’s easy to make for kids trick-or-treating and especially for Halloween parties. Smores are one of the more synonymous snacks that most people think of when it comes to a small gathering in the fall weather especially with a bonfire to roast the marshmallows.

Not only are they a snack you can make alone and can cater as a snack for a party, but you can also have guests try and attempt to make their own smores.

Brownies

Brownies are great for Halloween (but also for any day—period!) For trick-or-treating, mini brownies in small Halloween themed bags can be a great addition to the candy you hand out to kids.

Also, brownies are a great snack choice for a halloween party. If you’d like to add some halloween creativity to them, you can take some orange icing and decorate the brownies with things like bats, ghosts, skulls, etc.

Jolly Rancher Lollipops

For most trick or treaters, another common candy you’ll find in Halloween bags are lollipops. With some jolly ranchers, some popsicle sticks, and a baking sheet to throw them in the oven, you can make your own set of lollipops to hand out to trick-or-treaters or as a Halloween candy gift.

The best part about making these is actually the different combinations of flavors you can have for one lollipop. You can have it be one flavor, or multiple flavors all depending on what you think would be best.
