I’ve been looking for a pair of lightweight women’s waterproof walking trainers everywhere. I wanted something comfy to wear when I take the pram out. The thing is, I’ve noticed a lot of waterproof ladies shoes tend to feel quite cumbersome on.
My worst nightmare is dragging along some heavy walking boots, when I’ve nipped out with the pram for a quick trot around the block.
That’s why I was so excited to try Loom’s all-terrain waterproof trainers for women. They exactly what you would expect – allow you to walk on all terrains and keep the rain out. So when Loom Footwear sent me a pair to put the the test, I was genuinely delighted.

Loom Footwear Waterproof Walking Trainers Review
Loom made the claim that they’re comfy and entirely waterproof. Being the woman-of-the-world that I am, this wasn’t the first time I’ve heard such claims. ‘Waterproof’ and ‘comfortable’ don’t usually go together. In the past I’ve found that if they’re comfy you’ll get wet feet, and if they really waterproof, they’ll rub your feet raw.
I made it my mission to put my Loom footwear through a really thorough test.
Are Loom Footwear Trainers Waterproof?
This is obviously a big one, but yes, Loom Footwear waterproof trainers are actually waterproof! I’ve worn them in the rain, I’ve traipsed through shallow puddles and I’ve even stepped in one or two big puddles by accident. They honestly keep the water out. 10/10 for waterproofness from me.

Are Loom Footwear Trainers Comfy?
Shoes need to be comfy. You wear them for so many hours each day that they absolutely need to be comfy, right? Luckily, they’re very comfy. The sole is made of a bouncy, cushiony material I’d like my bed to be made of. They’re also breathable, which I think plays a huge part in the comfort. Most waterproof footwear leaves you feeling a bit clammy and really adds to the risk of blisters.
Other factors that contribute to how comfortable these waterproof trainers are is that they’re super lightweight. I’ve had walking shoes before that are designed for all-terrains, and they’ve felt like I’ve been walking around with lead strapped to my feet. These trainers feel like (actually, probably a bit lighter than) my regular lightweight trainers – which are not waterproof.
Do they smell?
Shoes that get frequent use, especially those that are waterproof, can end up a bit niffy if they get a lot of wear. I’ve been wearing my Loom trainers most days and they smell as fresh as the day I got them. It might have something to do with the airflow, and the fact they’re anti-microbial, which helps stop any stinky bacteria hanging around.

Final Thoughts on the Loom Footwear Women’s Trainers
I really love my new trainers, I rave about them to everyone all of the time. They best thing is that they look great. I’ve never owned a pair of functional shoes, I can walk miles in but still look on-trend. Usually something has to give and you’re left with wet trendy shoes, painful waterproof shoes, or something comfy that doesn’t look great. I’ve found stylish waterproof shoes that are mega comfy in my Loom trainers and there’s not going back for me. They’ve recently been promoted to my favourite walking trainers for when I take the pram out.
