Entertainment Suggestions for a Weekend Indoors

So you’ve got no plans and you’ve got no intention of making any? I don’t blame you! Sometimes you just need a few days at home with no plans in order to unwind.

I find that alone time can be the best therapy. You can do exactly what you want, without having to think about others. My favourite things is watching trashy TV, eating junk and not wearing makeup. When you take other people out of the equation, you can truly relax

The trouble with too much of your own company is that it can get boring if you don’t plan ahead. Clearing your plans to stay home can suddenly seem boring when you run out of snacks and back to back reality shows.

In case you’re in need of ideas, these are some of the things I like to do when I’m having a weekend of me time.

Try a new look

I’m guilty of dying my hair or trying crazy makeup when I know no one will see me. Without the risk of being embarrassed, you can try all kinds of insane fashions. It’s my favourite time to try on everything in my wardrobe and check how a new look might pan out.

Play online games

I make no secret of the fact I love online games. I like free puzzle games, daft basic games and even online casino games.

My main go-to games are Solitaire and Mahjong, but I also love looking for new games to enjoy too.

If I want to spice things up, I look for a real money online casino to see how my luck is. I don’t spend a lot on them, the key is to set a budget and when it’s gone, it’s gone. I never spend money I can’t afford, as I never know how my luck will go!

Reading

Reading is the one thing I wish I did more of. The main problem is, my life doesn’t have enough time for good stretches of reading. If I’ve planned a weekend without plans, reading will feature high up on that list. A long stretch of reading a great book an ideal weekend in my eyes!

Binge watch TV

I know I mentioned this in the beginning of this article but it really needs its own section. For me, TV goes with many moods. For comfort TV, I re-watch Gilmore Girls, for scandallous entertainment I’ll find a reality show to binge watch, and if I need a good cry, I’ll Google sad films. TV holds the power to entertain for any occasion!

Make playlists

Music can be a complex thing. I swear most people my age aren’t interested in new stuff (unless it’s by their favourite artist). This means they listen to the music of their youth. A playlist can unlock memories, bring on a feeling or simply lift your mood. Making playlists is such a therapeutic activity and it can help you catalogue your thoughts, feelings and tastes. If you do it on something like Spotify, the software will help you find new music based on what you like already. This is a fantastic way to broaden your music knowledge (and not giveaway your age at a karaoke bar).
