Hyaluronic acid has long been a much-lauded product when it comes to skincare. A beauty therapist once told me “it’s like a hug for your skin,” and I’ve kept that in mind for every skincare routine ever since.

When I got offered some PR samples of the new Hyaluronic acid range from Poundland’s #6 Skincare brand, I was really excited. I spend a lot on skincare, so an affordable option to add to my bathroom cabinet would be a huge bonus.
My usual choices in skincare revolve around a handful of super-expensive products I use sparingly, and drugstore and mid-priced products for everyday use. If I can add budget products to my routine, it’s always a bonus!
The new products are a hyaluronic acid night cream, day cream and serum. They retail at £3 each, which is slightly more than you expect to pay for products from Poundland, but much cheaper than drug store equivalents of the same product.
My Thoughts on the Poundland Hyaluronic Acid Skincare Range
My first impression of the new Poundland skincare range is just how nice the packaging is. The night cream and day cream arrived in glass jars (loving that they can be recycled when all the product is gone). They don’t feel like a budget brand and if I was blind-tested, I think I’d guess that they were a £10 drugstore product.
The formula feels nice on the skin, with the night cream having a thick texture, which I like. The day cream is a little more watery, but still a pleasant texture. I found the serum quite runny (as a serum should be) and it sank into my skin really quickly.
What You Need to Know About the Poundland Hyaluronic Acid Skincare Range
The Poundland Hyaluronic Acid skincare range is great value for money. I found it to be hydrating and do a good enough job plumping my fine lines that they were basically invisible.
Although all the ingredients are mostly good for all skin types, there is some alcohol and fragrance on the list that might trigger sensitive or dry skin. My skin is combination and prone to sensitivity and dry patches. I can get send my skin in a spin by using the wrong product, then spend two weeks trying to correct my mistakes. Despite that, nothing in these formulas bothered my volatile face. I would advise everybody does whatever they think their skin can cope with, but my experience has been a good one.
All in all, this is a pretty decent buy if you’re on a budget. You’re never going to be able to compare a £90 face cream to one that costs £3 and get a similar result, but this range is definitely as good as some products I’ve spent upwards of £15 on.

I avoided it for ages thinking it would be just a very basic product that didn’t really do much. WRONG! I was quite impressed. Nice textures, no silly overblown promises and really pleasant products to use on a daily basis…..and AMAZING prices too….mainly because you aren’t paying for some overpaid model to tell you ‘You’re worth it’ in a TV ad every five minutes!
