Home appliance rental is not a new concept. When I was little, my parents rented our TV and video set-up (yes I said video, I grew up in the 90’s). It was a great option for them at the time. They could afford to buy a TV and VHS player, but back when equipment was unreliable and frequently updated, it seemed a little pointless.
In recent years, it seems like people have forgotten that appliance rental is a thing. I imagine the phrase ‘TV rental near me‘ isn’t searched nearly as often as it perhaps should be. After all, there are tonnes of benefits to renting your appliances over buying them.
Great Reasons to Rent Appliances
It’s alright me waxing lyrical about why renting appliances is amazing, but don’t just take my word for it. Below are some fantastic reasons to rent appliances instead of buying them.
Get the latest tech without the upfront cost

Perhaps you’ve moved into your first home and need to furnish it. If you’ve spent all your money on the move, then you don’t want to be forking out again for a posh TV or a fancy fridge. You might have a clear idea of the appliances you want in your home, but you’re not keen on waiting.
Renting appliances means you can get them when you want them but it won’t cost you thousands up front. Instead, you pay a small weekly (or monthly) fee and have the appliances in your home to enjoy.
Products are serviced
It’s reassuring to know products coming into your home are fully safe and serviced. This means you won’t be paying for faulty or damaged equipment and your money won’t be wasted.
A wide range of products to choose from
Renting means you have lots of different options to choose from. It’s likely you have a make or model in mind – especially when you’re dealing with things like TVs or stereos. By renting it means you don’t have to compromise on products. You can have something top of the range without having to save for it first.
No more visits to the laundrette

Although TVs are a popular item to rent, they’re not the only item. White goods are another commonly rented appliance. It can be a nightmare when your washing machine breaks, especially if you don’t have the funds to replace it. On top of that, visiting a laundrette can be time consuming, inconvenient and the costs soon add up too. Instead, renting a washer/dryer or a washing machine and paying weekly can be much more convenient and kinder on the wallet!
Flexible payment plans
Needing a home appliance right away can leave you in a bind. If you hadn’t considered renting, it’s likely you would find yourself having to either fork over a large sum of money, or compromise and go for a more basic appliance at a cheaper price. Flexible payment plans mean you can get that appliance quickly, go for the exact one you want and pay for it on terms that best suit you.
New Machine Every 18 Months
Rental places offer regular replacements and updates. That means your machine stays reliable and up to date. If you were buying, you’d spend your money up front on something that may quickly become out of date. When you rent, that doesn’t happen. You don’t own the product and you can replace and update it to keep up with the times.
