We were sent the Shaky Pop Nail Studio for the purpose of this review.
I absolutely adore anything beauty-related. If you’ve been following me any length of time, you’ll know this already. It stands to reason that my daughter also shares my interest in beauty, but being a tween, doesn’t find many products that hit the mark for her age.
The trouble with beauty products is, there are lots of items out there that are a little too adult for her, but on the flip side ‘play makeup’ is too young. This is where the Shaky Pop Nail Studio hits the right note. It’s aimed for kids ages 7+ and blends sophisticated style with age-appropriate products.
Shaky Pop Nail Studio Review

Shaky Pop Nail Studio is a simple but really cool piece of kit. It creates dazzling nails from glitter designs you create. You are able opt for something simple, or wow with an interesting design straight from your imagination!
Shaky Pop Nail Studio – What’s in the box?

Inside the box you’ll find everything you need to create the sparkly nails of your dreams. This includes:
- The shaker tube and hole covers
- The studio
- 2 shades of glitter (blue and purple)
- A brush
- Peel-off nail polish (peach)
How to Use the Shaky Pop Nail Studio

First set the nail studio up so that you’re ready to get your creativity flowing! Remove the hole covers from the shaker and rest them on the studio next to the nail paint, then remove the lids for the glitter. I’d do this over a table or put some newspaper down in case you spill. If you’re above a hard surface, it makes it much easier to rescue any dropped glitter.

Before you start, select which colour of glitter you’ll be using first and screw it into the bottom of the shaker.
Step one – paint!

Wash your hands, scrub your nails clean then get painting! The nail paint needs to be wet for the glitter to stick to it, so don’t allow it to dry before you use the shaker.
You can either paint each nail in full to get a solid block colour of glitter or paint on a design. You can even paint half you nail, add one colour of glitter then paint the other half! It’s well worth experimenting once you know how to use it.
Step two – shake it!

Ensure the nail paint is wet and push your fingers through the holes in the shaker making sure there are no gaps. Then give it a shake!
Step three – remove your hand (don’t worry about the mess)

When you remove your fingers (carefully) it might look a bit messy. Don’t panic, that’s what the brush is for! Wait a minute or for the nail paint to dry and brush off the excess glitter. If you’ve got the paint on your skin, it peels off easily so can be made neatened up quickly.
End Result
Once you’ve had a quick once over, you’re ready to show off! We’ve been playing with deigns a lot this week. Because the nail paint peels off, it means there’s no need for harsh chemicals so get your nails school-ready again. It also means you can go again whenever you’re ready!
